A new COVID-19 car control was opened Friday in Tolleson after the Maricopa County Department of Public Health recognized that the city was one of the main coVID-19 infection zones, authorities said.
The loose check site will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and runs through Embry Women’s Health, according to a message posted Thursday on the Tolleson city website.
Anyone, have or have symptoms, can get a loose check in the south rear parking lot of Tolleson City Council, 9555 W. Van Buren St., according to the statement.
“People still have access to practical controls, as most of our toll citizens are must-have painters, it is essential to have a control site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to give them the flexibility they need. They must adapt to their schedules,” Tolleson Mayor Anna Tovar said in the statement.
As of Friday, Maricopa County had a total of 126923 COVID-19 cases and 2,416 deaths, according to the CoVID-19 marker of the Maricopa County Department of Health. That’s an accumulation of 456 instances and 23 from Thursday, according to the scoreboard.
The new testing site in Tolleson came after several COVID-19 testing blitz events were held in June and July for underserved communities in areas such as Maryvale and south Phoenix.
While verification sites hosted through network organizations experienced waiting times of up to thirteen hours during the summer, federal government-controlled verification sites in Maryvale and South Phoenix experienced immediate wait times in July and reduced calls to verify.
Although pre-registration is recommended for an online appointment, this is not mandatory. The online appointment page requests the person’s name, email address, phone number, date of birth, marital status, insurance status, tactile personal tastes, and variety questions in COVID-19 for workers’ body records.
Once the nasal swab test is performed, the effects will occur within two to four days of Northwest Pathology or LabCorp, according to the release.
