Frank Thomas acquires a majority stake in Box of Dreams

Baseball Hall of Famer Frank Thomas bought a majority stake in the film Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa, for expansion.

Go the Distance Baseball announced Thursday the sale of Thomas’ band, This is Heaven. Thomas is partnering with Chicago entrepreneur and genuine real estate developer Rick Heidner, who is an investor in the originally owned organization and will retain his minority investment.

The conditions have been announced. The deal includes All-Star Ballpark Heaven, which hosts youth baseball tournaments in the city.

Thomas will serve as chief executive officer and Dan Evans, former manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will serve as lead chief operating officer.

“We are excited to lead the long-term progression and expansion of the Dream Camp in a spirit of collaboration with our neighbors and government officials,” Thomas said in a press release.

It consists of more than 190 acres, most of which remain an active corn field.

The field of dreams gained importance after the release of the 1989 film of the same call with Kevin Costner. Last month, the hotel hosted its first primary league game when Thomas’ former team, the Chicago White Sox, beat the New Ones. York Yankees in a 9-8 thriller.

MLB is expected to return to the Field of Dreams on August 11, 2022, when the Chicago Cubs face the Cincinnati Reds.
