This is the big season 4th release in Fortnite for maximum people, but not for everyone. This morning it also marks a top score in Apple and Epic Games’ combat by apple’s 30% reduction on all App Store purchases: that’s when iOS users stay for Season 3, as Apple’s Fortnite recall means Epic can’t update the app. in season four.
But if iOS users are unlucky, Android users are not, completely. You can’t Fortnite by the same usual means: Google has also disposed of Fortnite from Google Play and Epic has filed an action contrary to the search company. But Android is a more open platform than iOS, so you can still play and update Fortnite by installing it directly from the Epic Games website.
If you play Fortnite basically on Android and want to play Season 4, you’ll want to follow the commands on the Fortnite website. It will create scary pop-ups during the process, but everything will be fine as long as you only deal with the official Epic Games website.
At first, it’s the only way to play Fortnite on Android devices. That’s because the crusade of Epic and its CEO Tim Sweeney opposed to the 30% relief made through the virtual homeowners platform had been bubbling for some time, and the initial resolution to verify the passage through Google Play came from the same place. However, it didn’t work perfectly, and Epic’s final resolution of bringing Fortnite back to Google Play shows how difficult it has been for the company to convince other people to install the same old channels outdoors.
However, this is still convenient now, after Epic’s crusade against virtual platform owners (this also extends to its PC gaming showcase, where a 12% reduction is needed over the popular 30% cut of its main steam competitor). Even if there are those pop-ups mentioned above.
Today marks an important point in this ongoing legal battle, however. Epic seems to be counting on public pressure to help swing perception in its favor as iOS users are stuck playing an outdated version of the game, but things could go any way as the courts get going. We’ll see what happens soon, but I wouldn’t be holding my breath for Fortnite if I was primarily an iOS user.
