Then, after many requests from our users, here’s how to search for an LG screen on a MacBook Air and improve it.
If you have a newer MacBook Air, you should be careful. Some MacBook Airs come with Samsung screens and others with LG displays, or are quality displays, but LG’s default color profile is lighter and a little flat. Most users probably wouldn’t.Note, however, if you place a MacBook Air with a Samsung screen next to the one with the LG screen, you will see the difference. This is achieved seamlessly by using a traditional color profile with a higher range. This article will explain how to see which manufacturer panel you have and will also show you how to load a traditional color profile that makes LG’s screen as beautiful as Samsung’s.
If you use the same command for the make and style of an LCD screen that works on older Macs, you can consult your macbook screen manufacturer.
A user on the MacRumors forum has created a traditional color profile that actually improves the display of LG displays on some 2011 MacBook Air machines. Again, if you don’t have an LG display, you shouldn’t use this profile. Adding this color profile is reversible. and you can go back to the default settings if you don’t like it.
If you have the LG display, you’ll see a difference: the contrasts are sharper, the whites are whiter, and there’s a much lighter difference between the small shades of colored sun and the shades of gray sun.
If you make a decision that you don’t like the modified LG profile, choose the most sensitive “color LCD screen” from the list. You can also place the color profile in the user’s non-public library folder instead of the formula library folder, although you probably want to create the folder yourself.
Thank you to Erlend for presenting this advice on Mac1.no!
