In the era of “fake news,” Facebook is for fake accounts that can influence the upcoming November election.
According to NBC News, the social media platform on Thursday removed a lot of accounts from a farm of foreign trolls who pass as blacks who support Donald Trump.the so-called “deep state” opposed to Trump and his supporters.
Troll farms are other people’s equipment that combines to manipulate Internet discourse with fake accounts. They are outsourced and purchased from foreign governments or corporations to advertise points of discussion of express policies. In this case, the motivation for the troll farm was unclear, according to Facebook’s head of security policy, Nathaniel Gleicher. However, Facebook said it had not found “clear evidence of monetary motivation” or “clear links to well-known advertising actors in this space.”
In addition to the false accounts that are being traded as African-Americans by Donald Trump and QAnon ers, Facebook has also eliminated a lot of fake accounts connected to conservative media The Epoch Times, which promoted pro-Trump conspiracy theories about protests in the United States and the coronavirus pandemic.
These recent deletions are a component of the Facebook app that opposes non-authentic coordinated behavior, i.e. using non-authentic accounts to build the success of products or content on social media.According to its report, Facebook removed nine networks of accounts, pages, and computers in July.”Many of the activities we got rid of in July were similar to relevant business entities and Americans with political campaigns and political offices,” the report says.”We share data on our findings with law enforcement and policy makers and industry components.”
The nine networks eliminated were basically from countries, i.e. they have been disposed of from a Romanian network, a Brazilian network, an American network and six other networks connected to an express country or a global network, in total 798 Facebook accounts have been deleted and 259 Instagram accounts were deleted.
The pro-Trump foreign troll farm was founded in Romania and posted content on Instagram with nicknames such as “BlackPeopleVoteForTrump” and on Facebook under “We Love Our President”.
Facebook said deletions were discovered for “behavior, not content,” such as violating regulations that oppose creating fake accounts to encourage participation in certain elements of the content.Atlantic Council researchers discovered that many troll farm messages came here from a character named “David Adrian,” who used a stolen profile picture and claimed to live in Montana and Romania.Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have deleted all accounts of David Adrian’s character.
An example of the new withdrawal connected to Epoch Media, according to Facebook, involved an account called “Truth14″.He drove a meme about a baseball player who didn’t kneel the national anthem, which was part of trump’s account strategy and anti-Black Lives Matter messages.”This guy’s going to want a lot of help because the crowd is coming for him and his family,” the message says.”MLB” is “BLM” written backwards.”
At one point last year, the Great Era was the largest pro-Trump classified ad client on Facebook outside of the Trump campaign.
