Facebook prepares for Trump’s election results, sees political publicity as a “off switch”

Since admitting that foreign powers have used the platform to influence the 2016 elections through disinformation campaigns, Facebook has implemented a series of answers to verify to resolve repeated disruptions: war rooms, postcards, new policies, collaboration with intelligence agencies, etc.

The New York Times reports that Facebook workers are now going through post-election scenarios as a component of their efforts to combat voter interference, adding attempts through Trump and his team to challenge the results.

Citing other people who know Facebook’s plans, one situation that is ready is that Trump is the service to delegitimize the effects and mistakenly claims that he has won four more years. You can also claim that the effects are invalid due to the use of mail order ballots, an accusation that caused you problems with Twitter last May.

Facebook will have to be wary of accusations of censorship and conservative bias, of course. Unlike Twitter, he never reported on any of Trump’s tweets, and boasted of being a platform for free speech; Just a few months ago, Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook didn’t need to be a “truth umpire.”

Zuckerberg reportedly told staff that if a politician tried to claim victory at the top of the site, he would add a label explaining that the effects were not definitive. A “Kill Switch” is also communicated for political advertising, which would disable all political announcements after November 3 if the election result was not transparent without delay or if the effects are challenged.

Trump is not a Facebook fan, and this news probably adds to the president’s quotes with social media companies. “Great technologies’ efforts to obstruct President Trump actually have no limits,” Trump’s crusade spokeswoman Samantha Zager said. “Facebook is an online social media page, not the referee of election results.”
