Everything announced at Samsung Unpacked, Galaxy AI, and Galaxy Ring

Samsung held Unpacked to unveil a major smartphone announcement. Say hello to the new Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

But Samsung also had some highlights up its sleeve. The company announced Galaxy AI, a set of AI-powered devices designed to work alongside the trio of next-generation phones. Samsung also unveiled a new logo.

Here’s everything you need to know about Samsung Unpacked.

The real star of Samsung Unpacked wasn’t the new Galaxy S phones, which we’ll talk about shortly. It was Galaxy AI.

Galaxy AI brings a number of AI-powered features to Samsung’s 3 new phones, as well as other Android devices.

The first feature Samsung unveiled is real-time voice translations while on a call. Users can see text translations on-screen as well hear an AI voiceover translate the call verbally. AI translations also come to text messages as well, as texts automatically translate when a user both sends and receives them.

Unpacked also showed off some Samsung Notes features, like the ability to clean up messy handwriting in order to make note-taking neater and more readable. In addition, the Note Assist feature can autoformat quickly typed notes into well-written summaries and easy-to-read bullet points.

Samsung also showcased its new AI photo and video features, such as HDR, nightgraphy, and AI-powered video stabilization. The company boasted of its collaboration with Instagram to bring the first HDR-enabled images to the platform.

However, the exclusive maximum AI feature here has to be the AI builds within the symbol editor. For example, those photo editing features can complete out-of-frame images and in-picture video elements with AI. When those functions, Samsung will upload a watermark on the photo and hint in the metadata that the image comprises AI-generated content.

Samsung also released a video in partnership with YouTube giant MrBeast to show off the ultra zoom of its new Samsung Galaxy S24 camera and the ease with which AI can edit photos. MrBeast also brought Samsung’s Quickshare feature, which can temporarily send photos and other files in a complete solution for all Android devices and PCs.

In addition to its own AI, Samsung has partnered with Google to integrate the search giant’s AI models into Samsung’s Android smartphones and devices.

Google’s biggest announcement on Samsung’s occasion is the new Search Circle feature.

When it comes to the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup, as well as some other Android devices, users will be able to search by simply surrounding, highlighting, scribbling, or tapping an object on their screen. Users can search this way for text, photos, or even videos displayed on their device. For example, if your favorite designer is dressed in a blouse you’d like to buy, the wearer can simply press and hold the Home button and circle the blouse. A Google search will then automatically be performed and link the user to the blouse-like result and where they can buy it.

Samsung announced that many of its announced AI features, such as translations, will integrate seamlessly with Google’s phone-to-car service, Android Auto.

The biggest event in Samsung’s smartphone lineup is the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Ultra is the toughest model of Samsung’s Galaxy phones and the newest edition is no different.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile chipset. Some benchmark tests have found the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to be faster than Apple’s own speedy M1 chipset, so it’ll be interesting to see just how the Galaxy S24 Ultra performs.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is 6.8 inches in size, like its predecessor, with a QHD display. The Android-device also comes with four rear-facing cameras: a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 200MP wide camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Counting the 12MP front camera, the Galaxy S24 Ultra has a total of 5 cameras for users to choose from.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will be available with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage. Samsung appears to have tossed the 8GB of memory version of the Ultra and all the devices come with a whopping 12GB of memory.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra will start at $1,299.

Samsung’s top Galaxy S smartphone models also got an update.

And like its high-end sibling, the Galaxy S24 and S24 will be powered by Qualcomm’s newest cellular chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

The Galaxy S24 is much smaller than the Ultra, measuring 6. 2 inches and having an FHD display. The Galaxy S24 is only smaller than the Ultra, measuring 6. 7 inches, and has the same QHD display.

Both smartphones have 3 rear cameras: a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 50 MP wide-angle camera and a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, just like the 12 MP front camera.

The Galaxy S24 only comes with 8GB of memory, regardless of whether you opt for the 128GB or 256GB storage version. The Galaxy S24 starts with the 256GB model and will also offer a 512GB storage version. However, the Galaxy S24 will offer 12GB of memory in either version. So, it turns out that if you don’t miss out on the Ultra’s extra camera and higher-quality photographs, the Galaxy S24 may offer the best value for money.

The base style of the Galaxy S24 starts at $799 and the Galaxy S24 at $999.

The occasion ended with a sneak peek at some of Samsung Health’s new features, such as sleep analytics, when a wonder appeared on the screen:

A new wearable device called the Galaxy Ring.

The video was more of a sneak peek of what the device looked like, without any genuine main points about its capabilities. But Samsung has big plans for the Galaxy Ring.
