Epic activated a feature of its app that has not been reviewed or approved through Apple, and did so with the explicit goal of violating in-app payment rules from the App Store that apply to each and every developer who sells virtual products or services.

The on-screen text read: “Epic Games has challenged the Monopoly app store. In retaliation, Apple blocks Fortnite from one billion devices. Join the fight to prevent 2020 from adjusting to “1984”. #FreeFortnite”
