SpaceX has denied claims that rocket launches in Texas have led to a decline in the population of plovers. These birds are listed as endangered species, according to the U. S. government, and the New York Times alleged that SpaceX failed to protect them during launch missions.
Refuting the story, SpaceX said in X that claims that the Whistle Plover population has declined by 54% in 2021 are false and that data collected through the “Coastal Bend Group” is unreliable.
SpaceX conducts rocket launches from its Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas, and considerations about public and environmental protection have been the subject of controversy. It recently erupted after Starship’s first project on April 20, 2023, when the rocket exploded mid-flight and its debris fell several kilometers from the launch pad.
In its statement, the company led by Elon Musk argued that the population pattern of plovers over the years is inconsistent as it is highly variable.
“With a few exceptions, the Whizz Plovers observed in Texas migrate to or from wintering grounds farther south along the Gulf Coast or in the Caribbean, or live nearby during the winter,” he said.
According to the state of Massachusetts, this U. S. state is a state of Massachusetts. The U. S. will have the largest plover’s hatchery in 2023.

SpaceX extra said the tracking report was released in 2022 after new data research found no change in its population.
In republishing this statement, Musk criticized the New York Times for its specialization “in tedious and misleading propaganda. “
In the same report, it is stated that the release of the Starship on June 6 destroyed nine bird nests around the release site. “To make up for this heinous crime, I will refrain from eating an omelet for a week,” Musk responded. However, New York Times reporter Eric Lipton claimed to have discovered a spot of egg yolk on the ground near the release pad.
This is the second time in recent months that the publication has been criticized for its “misleading” information. In early June, the New York Times published an article about an Amazonian tribe that became addicted to pornography after employing Musk’s Starlink web services. He then issued an explanation stating that the media policy was aimed at introducing the Marubo tribe to the Internet aspect.
