Foodfest International 2000 Inc. modified its recall of various products with the Elite logo due to possible Salmonella contamination in order to correctly identify affected products. Label data can appear in English or Hebrew.
The products were sold domestically in Canada. This recall was triggered through a recall in some other country.
Some Elite products have also been recalled and distributed in the domestic kosher market in the United States, primarily in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, California and Florida, and to consumers through Amazon. com, Fresh Direct, Passover. com and all stores. online sites. At the time of this recall, no cases of illness related to the intake of those products have been reported.
Consumers do not eat the recalled products. Recalled products must be discarded or returned to the place where they were purchased.
About Salmonella Infections
Foods infected with Salmonella bacteria do not have a spoiled appearance, smell or taste. Infants, children, the elderly and others with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of becoming seriously ill because their immune systems are fragile, according to the CDC.
Anyone who has been fed any of the recalled products and has developed symptoms of Salmonella infection deserves to consult a doctor. Other sick people deserve to tell their doctor about imaginable exposure to Salmonella bacteria, as special tests are needed to diagnose salmonellosis. Salmonella symptoms infection can mimic other diseases, which sometimes leads to misdiagnosis.
Symptoms of Salmonella infection can present with diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 12 to 72 hours of eating infected food. Otherwise, healthy adults are in poor health for 4 to 7 days. However, in some cases, diarrhea can be so severe that patients want to be hospitalized.
The elderly, children, pregnant women, and others with weakened immune systems, such as cancer patients, are more likely to develop serious illnesses and serious, fatal conditions.
Some other people become inflamed without having health problems or having symptoms. However, they can still transmit infections to others.
