Elder Scrolls 6 may not make it to PS5 and won’t be released until 2026 at the earliest, according to Microsoft.

Documents from Microsoft’s lawsuit with the FTC were posted online and it was revealed that Microsoft has no plans to bring The Elder Scrolls VI to PlayStation.

A how-to page received through Stephen Totilo shows a breakdown of supported games and platforms, with The Elder Scrolls VI indexed as in progress for Xbox and PC, but also for PlayStation. The document also shows that The Elder Scrolls VI will be released at the earliest in 2026 and will have multiplayer support.

Another recently released document shows that Microsoft informed the FTC in September 2022 that The Elder Scrolls VI “may be released only on Xbox and PC. “

Based on Microsoft’s responses in FTC v. Microsoft. Elder Scrolls VI indexed here the Xbox and PC names and will be released in 2026 or later. During his testimony at the hearing, Xbox’s Phil Spencer went on to say that the game had been available for at least five years and that the platforms were technically up to pic. twitter. com/Kto9bE5U8C

This revelation about The Elder Scrolls VI is not so surprising. After all, Microsoft made Starfield exclusive to Xbox and PC after buying ZeniMax, so it’s only logical that the company’s next game would stick to a similar manual. Game director Todd Howard recently explained why Starfield is a major game because it didn’t make it to PlayStation.

Microsoft’s documentation and the words of Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, don’t exactly fit. Spencer reportedly recently said that the company determines the platform’s availability for its games on a case-by-case basis, or categorically states that the game shouldn’t be coming to PlayStation 5.

In June, as part of the lawsuit between Microsoft and the FTC, Spencer said the platforms for The Elder Scrolls VI were not yet available, in part because the game’s release was so far off.

“With Elder Scrolls VI, it’s a long way off; it’s hard to determine what the platforms will be right now,” Spencer said. “It’s the same team that finishes Starfield, which will come out in September. So we’re talking about a game that’s more than five years away. “

Microsoft runs on new Xbox hardware and the next generation of consoles could start in 2028, so it’s imaginable that The Elder Scrolls VI will appear on the next Xbox.

The Elder Scrolls VI was announced in June 2018 and, for more than five years, Bethesda hasn’t said much. Howard recently explained that the game may have been announced too soon. After years of pre-production, The Elder Scrolls VI is now officially in development.

After The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda will direct Fallout 5.
