Educational Information Sessions: Registration Opens for ALA Girls Status in New Mexico

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the American Legion’s New Mexico State Auxiliary Girls Program (ALANMGS) will hold its 73rd face-to-face session, June 5-10, on the campus of Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) in Portales. NM. Participants in this hands-on leadership program will delight in government in action through learning, discussion and debate, elections, as well as service projects, team-building activities, skills shows, and many other activities.

Participants in the program will need to be the school’s top scholars (class of 2023) and New Mexican citizens attending public, charter, private, or boarding schools. Participants are guilty of their registration fee ($30), transportation to ENMU in Portales, NM and their non-public belongings. Session payments, which include accommodation and meals on the ENMU campus, program prices, and materials, are provided through American Legion Auxiliary, Department of New Mexico.

Students who complete the alanm girls state program will earn 3 ENMU educational credits at no additional charge and will be eligible for exclusive scholarships, the Samsung American Legion scholarship program, which will award up to $10. 00 in scholarships.
