Bionic Health, an AI-powered personalized healthcare startup, announced that Dr. Peter Lee, Microsoft’s vice president of studies and incubation, has joined its board of directors.
Dr. Lee is known for his expertise in synthetic intelligence, informatics, and healthcare innovation.
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Peter Lee to our board of directors,” Bionic Health co-founder and chief medical officer Dr. Jared Pelo said in the news release. “Peter has been at the forefront of AI in medicine and Bionic Health will gain advantages from his vision and leadership. “
The company also announced that several hundred corporations have chosen Bionic Health to participate in Betaworks AI Camp, a program for early-stage AI startups. As one of twelve startups selected for the program, Bionic Health will receive additional investments. from Betaworks, Greycoft, Mozilla Ventures and Differential VC, according to the press release.
“The decision to participate in the Betaworks AI Camp is a great honor and validation of our cutting-edge technique for AI in healthcare,” said Robbie Allen, CEO of Bionic Health, in the press release.
Bionic Health has set up a clinic in North Carolina with dozens of patients to exercise the company’s AI into real-world practices and protocols, according to the website. Founders Allen (founder of Automated Insights, acquired through Vista Equity Partners) and Pelo (founder of iScribes, acquired through Nuance Communications) describe the startup as “democratizing preventive medicine for health-conscious adults. “

According to the press release, Bionic Health is lately looking to expand its business and plans to reopen registrations for new members later in 2023.
