Disney brings 3 more 3D videos and one new one to Apple Vision Pro

It’s no secret that the Vision Pro hasn’t been a huge success in terms of sales, but at $3,499/£3,499 as a starting point (with 256GB of storage and excluding traditional Zeiss lens inserts for those who want bezels) , probably not much of a surprise. However, having tried one a few weeks ago, I find it to be an amazing piece of equipment, even if it’s highly unlikely that most people would justify it.

As I discovered in my experience, in addition to its virtual reality computing and entertainment capabilities, one of the main strengths of the Apple Vision Pro is that it is an audiovisual device par excellence.

This is especially true for 3D, because with eye-friendly 4K images (and for high-frame-rate TrueCut Motion technology), Vision Pro provides the best way to stereoscopically watch videos, even if it’s an experience for you.

So it’s good news that four new videos are now available on Disney. They all belong to the Marvel cast in the form of Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp. Having seen the latter on Blu-ray 3D, I saw several scenes that worked very well in the 3rd dimension.

Plus, if you’ve ever felt like what was missing from the movie-watching experience was while sitting in Iceland’s Thingvellir National Park, then again, you’re in luck.

The Disney Studio Technology team says they worked with National Geographic to capture three-dimensional photogrammetry models of the environment (the art and science of extracting three-dimensional data from photographs) to recreate the surroundings in full resolution.

Having tried other environments, I can attest to how strangely attractive those environments are, so if you have a Vision Pro, I suggest you try this one.
