Deion Sanders resigns from NFL after his contract expires

Deion Sanders will leave NFL Network after a contract dispute between the two parties, to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.

The Hall of Fame member has been an analyst for the network since 2006, leaving after his contract expires this year. NFL Network reportedly asked Sanders to accept a pay cut after he also cancels his 21-Prime program.

“Deion has been one of the key figures to blame for the EXPANSION of NFL network paintings,” NFL vice president of communications Alex Riethmiller said in a statement. “We thank you for your paintings and wish you the whole future.”

Although his next step is unknown, Sanders told the Dan Patrick Show in January that he would “become head coach of school football next year.”

He would have been a candidate for the position at Florida State, his alma mater, but the school hired Mike Norvell.
