Hundreds of museums, castles and historical sites will be open at a reduced rate or with a reduced rate from 12 to 20 September from the annual European Heritage Day event.
The opening will begin in the town of Olomouc, where visitors can participate in guided tours, exhibition openings and an audiovisual show, among other activities.
Lately, the event’s online page lists 680 interesting sites, 16 of which are in Prague.Historical sites include everything from ancient army fortifications, historic parks and thermal architecture to ancient breweries, churches, synagogues, theaters and mines.
The days will also come with a number of special cultural programs, adding art exhibitions, concerts and markets.
The European Heritage Days are administered through the Association of Historical Monuments of the Czech Republic, Moravia and Silesia, a non-profit non-governmental organization involved in the preservation of the integrity of culturally significant sites, artifacts and monuments.
