The Andes Amazon Fund (AAF) is seeking a communications coordinator for outreach operations in its Washington, DC office. The primary mandate of this role is for the AAF’s communication efforts with its donors, affiliates, and a wider audience on issues similar to the AAF Paintings for creating and protecting spaces in the Andean-Amazon region of South America (read more in www. andesamazonfund. org).
AAF aims to succeed in its audience through its website, social media sites, newsletters and through published materials, blogs and events online or in person. Partners and experts in media campaigns similar to AAF’s mission are also expected to fill this position. .
The successful candidate will need to have a degree in communication or similar to the objectives of the AAF. A transparent track record of wisdom and experience in companies is preferred.
The user must have the right writing and organizational skills, speak Spanish and English fluently, and possess a positive attitude. The AAF offers a competitive salary and an exceptional benefits package.
Responsibilities and tasks
Key tasks and day-to-day jobs include:
Communication (75%)
· Write, format and design communication structures as described above.
· Update the AAF website.
· Post to AAF social media accounts.
· Monitor social media and analytics.
· Assist in the preparation of presentations and assembly materials.
· Organize and databases of photos and contacts.
· Organize one to 3 webinars and/or occasions according to the year.
· Help AAF beneficiaries exercise in communication practices.
· Respond to inquiry emails.
Programmatic and administrative (25%)
· Attend and report on assigned events.
· Assist in the control of grants or contracts.
· Assist with logistics.
· Provide administrative and logistical services to the AAF office, as required.
All NVF workers are required to complete timesheets.
Education, experience, knowledge and skills.
· A bachelor’s degree is required in a similar box.
· At least 2 years of applicable professional experience, with demonstrated experience in communication.
· Fluent in Spanish, speaking, writing and editing in English and Spanish is required.
· Required technician: WordPress, Adobe InDesign and/or Illustrator or other graphic design systems such as Canva.
· Desired skills: Google Analytics, HootSuite, MailChimp, Final Cut Pro and/or Adobe Premiere, cross-control control.
Education, experience, knowledge and valued and non-essential talents.
Demonstrated interest and wisdom in conserving biodiversity, spaces, or the Amazon region, as well as delight in living or running in Latin America, are highly preferred.
· Creative and energetic, with attention to detail.
· Ability to work in a remote work environment with a small team.
· Ability to organize and prioritize paintings and meet deadlines in a changing environment.
· Common sense, flexibility and team spirit with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
· You must be willing to work abroad as needed.
· Eligibility is required to paint in the United States.
