Kenosha, Wisconsin – The State of Wisconsin and the City of Kenosha announce the sale of approximately 240 acres of land northwest of Interstate 94 and Highway 142 to Microsoft. The site complements the state’s and region’s ability to innovate and expand into the virtual economy and continues Microsoft’s investment in the region.
“In Wisconsin, we continue our paints to leverage AI, advancing critical sectors such as manufacturing, biohaleria, and technology, and we adapt to make sure our paints, economy, and state can meet the demands of the 21st century,” said Governor Evers. We are thrilled with Microsoft’s resolve to continue to make an investment in the southeast component of our state, which I am proud has been a key focus for our efforts to expand and grow the economy. “
The city of Kenosha unanimously passed ordinances last December to attach and rezone the property, paving the way for possible development of knowledge.
“Today marks a transformative moment for the City of Kenosha as we proudly welcome Microsoft to our network conferences,” said City of Kenosha Mayor David Bogdala. “This innovative investment solidifies Kenosha’s position as a hub for innovation and economic growth. The progression of this land, from creating jobs to strengthening our local economy, will resonate for generations to come. We are revered to paint with Microsoft and look forward to long-term opportunities to collaborate, adding joint study initiatives, qualification progression programs and NetPaintings engagement activities. “
Microsoft’s investment represents a milestone for Kenosha and continues to highlight the region’s appeal as a hub for generation and development.
“It’s exciting to welcome other world-class businesses to Kenosha County – the gateway of Wisconsin,” said Samantha Kerkman, Kenosha County Manager. “This significant investment through Microsoft will have a major economic effect on our region, further expanding our tax base and diversifying our economy. I’m proud to put Microsoft on the list of developing corporations around the globals who decide to do business here. “
“We are thrilled to welcome Microsoft to Kenosha County and elevate one of the world’s largest generation corporations to our list of leading foreign corporations,” said Nicole Ryf, president of the Kenosha Business Alliance. Attracting foreign attention for its strategic location, productive workforce, infrastructure and pro-business climate and Kenosha County are fortunate to be at the center of it all. “
The acquisition of land in the city of Kenosha is in addition to Microsoft’s investment in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, announced in May 2024.
“We are thrilled that Microsoft will continue to expand its commitment to the Milwaukee area,” said Gale Klappa, co-chair of Milwaukee 7 and chairman of the WEC Energy Group Board of Trustees. “This additional investment, announced, speaks volumes about our region as a home for cutting-edge corporations and a dynamic hub for technological advancement. “
