FOSTER CITY, Calif. , May 26, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Exabeam, the leader in next-generation SIEM and XDR, today announced its third annual Exabeam Cybersecurity Fellowship Program. This year’s program is sponsored by the Exabeam women’s organization, ExaGals, and is designed for two women who recently enrolled in an undergraduate program in cybersecurity, computer science, or a similar field. The first-place winner will get a $10,000 scholarship and a paid summer internship in the branch of their selection at Exabeam, and the finalist will get a $5,000 scholarship.

The scholarship program also supports the values-based projects of Exabeam, Exabeam Cares and Exabeam CommUNITY Council, which invests in philanthropic efforts focused on education, diversity and inclusion.

“Women are still underrepresented in the cybersecurity workforce. Through our internal efforts, we see the benefits of expanding mentoring and expansion opportunities for women and others from all walks of life. We want everyone to feel welcome in cybersecurity,” said Gianna Driver, Head of Human Resources, Exabeam. “This year’s scholarship program is helping to raise awareness that there are many interesting jobs in the cybersecurity field. Currently, in the United States, 600,000 open jobs are vacant each year in our sector, putting an alarming number of organizations at risk. Ultimately, we want more women to help protect U. S. organizations that are vulnerable to cyberattacks. “

Recent reports have revealed that women make up only 24% of the cybersecurity workforce. This gender gap and the concern of not integrating are the main non-unusual reasons why women do not pursue careers in cybersecurity. Exabeam hopes to close the gap by supporting the next generation. And this year the company is running to give women greater exposure to the vast opportunities of cybersecurity.

To participate, applicants will need to submit their transcripts along with a 5-minute video between May 26 and July 31, 2022. Instructions can be found on the scholarship website.

The video canopy the following:
