Buenos Aires seeks to attract foreign productions with a new reduction of money for projects that walk through the Latin American city.
BA International Production created through the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires and grants a 20% reimbursement of expenses, with a maximum of $ 600,000 (75 million pesos) according to the project. The total fund is composed of $4 million (491 million pesos).
The reduction will be for productions shot totally or partially in the Argentine capital and will cover pre-production, production and / or post-production. The productions, which can be feature films or fiction series, must have at least 4 days of filming in Buenos Aires and spend a minimum of $ 660,000 (80 million pesos) to qualify for a 20% refund request in money.
In announcing the production incentive, the ministry noted that 70% of Argentina’s film production corporations are in the city, providing an established production infrastructure.
“Culture is a wonderful source of paintings and the audiovisual industry plays an increasingly important role in its expansion,” said Buenos Aires Mayor Horacio Rodríguez Larreta. “With every film or series shot in Buenos Aires, we are not only able to provide the most productive of our people to the world, but also generate employment for many other people who live directly or from the audiovisual industry. We will accompany all those who must take credit for the foresight of Buenos Aires so that they can continue to expand cultural opportunities in the city.
Buenos Aires will compare the productions according to their prospective impact on “the national audiovisual industry and related, taking into account the generation of employment according to the qualification point and its link with the audiovisual channel”.
