Britney Spears’ demands for her long-standing guardianship were not prosecuted, days after the singer asked her father, Jamie Spears, to get rid of her conservative duties.
At a hearing Wednesday, Jamie’s role in Britney’s tutelage remained unchanged, according to the most recent court documents received through ET. The hearing was a scheduled pre-order conference, where Los Angeles Judge Brenda Penny awarded the move to seal a hearing and transcripts in Britney’s guardianship case.
According to the documents, the letters of temporary guardianship have been extended until 1 February 2021. Britney’s lawyer, Samuel Ingham, has until September 18 to file a petition.
Britney enthusiasts held a demonstration #FreeBritney in front of Stanley Mosk’s courthouse in Los Angeles during the hearing. Elizabeth Dinon, a supporter of the #FreeBritney movement, told ET that the singer’s former partner, Jason Alexander, was provided and arrived at the rally around 11:30 a.m. Dinon describes Alexander as “good-minded” and says he said she was there because he supports the #FreeBritney movement.
“He’s happy to be here, super nice, incredibly grateful for us and that,” Dinon said.
Does it look familiar? Jason Allen Alexander is here! Britney’s well-known friend during the training years had 55 hours as a husband (remember her wedding in Las Vegas?).

In court documents received through ET this week, the 38-year-old singer’s lawyer said Britney didn’t need her father to be her curator. Documents indicated that Britney sought for Jodi, her long-term care manager, to remain in the position after her appointment to court expired on August 22. She was appointed Britney’s transitority curator in September 2019 after Jamie asked the court to surrender. in the reins, bringing out ongoing fitness problems.
“[Jamie] was in the past the sole curator of its user since 2008,” the court documents say. “Britney strongly opposes [Jamie] returning as curator of herself. On the contrary, she prefers that Mrs Continue in this role as she has done for almost a year. (…) Britney would like to appoint Mrs as her curator to become permanent.”
Britney also doesn’t need Jamie, 68, to be the sole administrator of his monetary affairs.
“Britney strongly opposes Jamie becoming the sole curator of his estate,” the documents say. “Rather, by somehow waiving your right to request termination of this guardianship in the future, you prefer that a qualified corporate trustee be appointed to perform that role.”
Britney’s lawyer explained her guardianship and how she evolved in three different stages as her life was replaced over the years in the documents. The first phase is described as a “triage”: its curators “saved it from collapse, exploitation through predators and monetary ruin.” The moment phase covered Britney’s years of functionality, when she had several global tours and a successful residency in Las Vegas. But now, the 3rd phase of existing guardianship reflects Britney’s preference to keep playing.
“We are now at a point where guardianship wants to change particularly to reflect primary adjustments to the existing way of life and declared desires,” the documents read.
Earlier this month, Jamie spoke about his daughter’s guardianship and the motion #FreeBritney in an interview with Page Six. Jamie called the motion, which advocates the end of Britney’s guardianship, as a “joke.”
“All those conspiracy theorists know nothing. The global has no idea,” he said. “It’s up to the California court what’s most productive for my daughter. It’s nobody else’s business.”
“I love my daughter, ” he continued. “I love all my children. But that’s our business. It’s private.”
Jamie also denied rumors that he or someone else would take cash from the singer’s inheritance, saying, “I have to pay back every penny spent in court every year. How the hell can I borrow something?”
