Bose’s new flagship true wireless earbuds are designed to compete with Apple’s AirPods Pro, and you can pre-order them now for $279

Bose has announced the newest addition to its QuietComfort product line, the QuietComfort headphones. The new earbuds are designed to integrate Bose’s signature features into a true wireless earbud shape factor.

With noise cancellation technology, the QuietComfort Earbuds are poised to compete with other flagship wireless earbuds, like the Apple AirPods Pro and Sony WF-1000XM3. Bose’s over-ear headphones are known for their impressive noise cancelling performance. The Bose 700 are currently one of our top noise-cancelling headphone picks, and are really only rivaled by Sony’s WH-1000XM4 and WH-1000XM3.

It remains to be seen just how well the new QuietComfort Earbuds will stack up against the competition, but based on the headphones’ specifications and Bose’s track record, it looks like the new earbuds could be a worthy entry into the increasingly crowded true wireless market.

Below details everything you want to know about purchasing Bose QuietComfort headphones, adding pricing, pre-order links, and technical specifications.

The Bose QuietComfort headphones can now be pre-ordered for $279. 99. The headphones will officially launch on September 29. Pre-orders can be placed at stores like Bose, Best Buy, and Amazon.

At $279. 99, the Bose QuietComfort headphones will enter the market at a higher price than many competing flagship noise-cancelling headphones. The Apple AirPods Pro cost $249. 99, but can be found for less. Sony’s WF-1000XM3 is also recently priced lower at $229. 99.

Bose is known for providing some of the best noise-cancelling performance on the market, so it’s possible that the new earbuds could offer a big enough edge over the competition to justify their higher price. We’ll have to wait until we get some hands-on testing time with the headphones to know for sure.

The Bose QuietComfort headphones feature a true wireless in-ear design. The headphones offer a compact form factor, measuring just over an inch long and weighing just 0. 3 ounces.

The earbuds incorporate Bose’s proprietary noise cancellation technology to reduce ambient sounds via multiple microphones, tiny transducers, and a new algorithm. Noise cancellation can be adjusted across 11 levels, allowing buyers to choose how much ambient noise they want to let in.

Each earbud provides up to six hours of battery life when fully charged. The included wireless charging case provides up to an additional 12 hours of playtime, for a total of 18 hours of use. That said, Bose doesn’t specify whether those numbers have noise cancellation enabled or disabled.

For comparison, the Apple AirPods Pro earbuds offer up to 4. 5 hours of playback when used with noise cancellation, or up to five hours without noise cancellation.

In addition to Bose’s QuietComfort Earbuds, the company also revealed new Sports Earbuds designed for use during workouts. The in-ear headphones are smaller than the previous model and Bose says that they provide improved audio performance. Battery life is rated for up to five hours. The charging case can offer up 10 hours of extra juice.

You can pre-order the new Bose Sports Earbuds right now for $179. The headset will be available on September 29.

Rounding out Bose’s new lineup are three new Frame audio sunglasses. The unique glasses have been designed to combine prescription-ready UV protection with integrated audio playback.

The collection includes Tempo Frames for outdoor fitness, as well as Tenor Frames and Soprano Frames for use. All 3 feature Bose’s Open Ear Audio technology, as well as compact speakers integrated into the temples of the glasses. A set of microphones for calls is also incorporated. The new Frame collection is available to purchase now.
