Blackpool photographer Mark McNeill captures a photo of North Pier and the Lake District

But a fairly long lens can combine the two tourist attractions into a single photo.

Blackpool photographer Mark McNeill spends his time creating photographs of his city, and this is no exception.

Taken Saturday from the South Shore tram station, the photo is the end of North Pier, with the majestic Lake Felllands about 66 km away, twinkling in the background.

His Twitter message was very popular, adding from a user named Mick who said, “You’ve photographed a camel there! The Fylde Desert!”

You can see more of Mark’s paintings on his Twitter account or on his website.

Mark explained that the photographs were taken with a Nikon Z7 camera, with a 500 mm f5.6 telephoto lens, which compresses perspective.
