Last year, the most productive gaming laptops received even better deals and now it’s time for a new generation to hit the shelves. Nvidia RTX 40 series graphics cards are now firmly entrenched in the market, which means costs are coming down and new strength configurations are coming down. They’re just around the corner. Not only that, we also have a wonderful collection of gaming laptops from last year.
Clearly, those platforms can offer the power of a desktop with the portability of a much lighter device. However, smart gaming laptops manage to do this while still looking for something interesting, balancing value and functionality, and integrating a high-quality demo into their prices. These are the types of machines we’re interested in, and after extensive testing, we’ve discovered the models you want to see this year.
The most productive gaming PC of 2024 so far is the Asus ROG Strix Scar 16, but many of our favorite machines balance raw power and price for money. This means that some of these high-end models may not run the most impressive graphics cards. or packing bags of RAM – they’re overlooking the price. After all, if you don’t want to completely create a stereo, why pay for one?
We’ve tested a wide variety of gaming laptops to locate the most productive devices in the industry, checking functionality against the specs offered, design and temperature efficiency, as well as overall value for money. We put the device through a series of functionality checks and live, play and work with the models we review over an extended period of time. You can find out exactly how we check gaming laptops in our dedicated guide.

Our opinion:
Our favorite setup:
The Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 has succeeded the Razer Blade 15 (still shown below) as the most productive gaming PC yet. This thing rises above anything you can throw at it, without reaching the dizzying heights of other high-end RTX 40s. -Serial platforms. That’s because the Strix Scar puts its strength precisely where a PC gaming enthusiast needs it: cooling, CPU efficiency, and GPU power, while also providing a crisp set of RGB panels and a Mini LED demo worthy of its next release. generation chassis.
Design: However, it’s not a device for the most sophisticated among us. While the RGB panel that goes through the back edge can be turned off, it’s still a gaming laptop. The translucent design of the main platform wasn’t our favorite touch and adds to the player’s aesthetic while also slightly disapproving of the experience, but it all comes down to non-public preference.
The lid sports a giant ROG logo and a series of diagonal lines etched along the thick grille towards the back, further separating this platform from your desktop laptop. It’s not such an obvious design, though, and it actually puts the LEDs in standby mode. It helps to maintain the temper.
Features: We also have one of the most productive presentations we’ve ever had the excitement of using on a gaming laptop. Asus has dubbed its Mini LED presentations “Nebula HDR” and they sing. Between 1024 dimming zones and over 1100 nits of peak brightness, colors pop with perfect vividness and are well balanced with rich, deep contrast. Add in Dolby Atmos and a solid virtual immersive formula and you have a truly immersive experience.
Of course, this is supported by a set of high-end configuration options. The ROG Strix Scar 16 can be upgraded to an i9-13980HX processor with an RTX 4090 card; Those are specs that are sure to satisfy anyone for a high-end platform. .
Performance: We tested an RTX 4080 platform with the Intel i9-13980HX processor that comes with this configuration and the 4090 configuration, getting a Time Spy score of 17,611 and a Fire Strike score of 32,876 to beat the Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 by a margin. The Scar 16 even outperformed the larger (and much more expensive, RTX 4090) Razer Blade 18 in those benchmark tests. These are numbers that will help you get through the next five years of gaming comfortably, and potentially a lot more if we don’t see any. that is, not easy graphic breaks.
No, the frame rates weren’t as impressive as the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 indexed below; However, you’re also not spending an extra $1,000 on a fancy demo of timing (and the strength to execute it) that you might not use. Plus, with triple-digit frame rates on Ultra settings on difficult titles, there’s no denying the raw force built into this machine.
With HDR content rendered in stunning detail and colours pouring out of the screen with just the right vibrancy, it’s a real feast for the eyes.
Verdict: We have more and more 40-series RTX gaming laptops, but for now, the Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 is the most productive model to outperform our desktops. It’s well worth the investment for anyone who’s looking for a device with plenty of muscle to spare for long-term releases.

Our favorite setup:
If you spend as little as possible, this RTX 4050 setup will help you get ahead. You’ll still have to prove more than just reproducing frame rates with this model, while still reaping the benefits of a 144Hz display and a Ryzen 7 processor.
The Asus TUF A15 has long been a must-have tool among budget gaming laptops, but the newest model of 2023 has cemented its position as one of the best. This is a less expensive platform, so you’re making sacrifices to get the last pieces. in the price. However, the functionality on offer offers the right price for the money.
✅ You’re prioritising speed over thinness – the 1080p display here is designed to take care of speed than the extra detail you might find on a 1440p or 1600p display.
✅ You’re happy to cheer on enthusiasts: We achieve our most productive effects thanks to the Turbo Mode force preset that can cheer up enthusiasts to give you tangible functionality.
✅ You don’t want it to look cheap: the steel lid and undeniable colour scheme make the A15 look a lot more premium than its price suggests. If you’re going to spend less without that typical budget aesthetic, this is your best bet.
❌ You want a device for everyday work: If you’re looking for a wearable device for everyday work on the go, this is rarely the one. Not only is it bulkier than other priced ultrabooks, but the keyboard and trackpad don’t. Measure a full day’s worth of snap.
❌ You need to push difficult games to the limit: the RTX 4060 or RTX 4070 can’t do much; if you need to play next year’s biggest Triple-A on max settings, we’ve got you up for anything with a little more power.
Design: From the cool grey tones to the steel lid, the Asus TUF A15 looks and feels more premium than it is. Yes, most of this chassis is plastic and there are some questionable text panels on the main body, however, it has a sleek overall shape and perfectly avoids the not unusual angular issues of less expensive platforms.
The build quality is sure, with a narrow hinge towards the main screen and just the amount of flexibility expected in the keyboard is leading for a gaming PC of this price point. No, it’s not as narrow as the previous Asus TUF Dash F15, but it’s still a comfortable length: it can be carried comfortably in a backpack and sits well below the heavyweights on this list.
Features: Like all budget gaming laptops, the A15 has everything you need, but it doesn’t invest too much money in any of its core feature areas. Instead, it keeps its price for looks. That means you get a popular 1080p 144Hz IPS demo (in an older 16:9 form that seemed a little restrictive in our testing).
This demo may have benefited from a few extra nits of brightness, but it features colors with enough contrast and vividness to work in a more casual context. There’s also a full-size keyboard here, a rarity even on the 16-inch screens of those days. – And while it’s a little softer than we’d like, it still gets the job done. However, this trackpad may not help you get through a working day on the go. This is a clunky implementation with unreliable zoning for every aspect of a click and a heavy midsection.
Performance: We were inspired by the numbers we achieved in the A15’s benchmark tests. It actually scored higher on Time Spy and Fire Strike than a specific HP Omen Omen Transcend 16 (which is worth around $600 more) and managed to beat not-so-easy titles like Returnal and Hitman 3 without even dropping to about 60fps. Given that you’re spending a lot less than the same old thing and still getting triple-digit frame rates in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, it’s an absolute win.
Verdict: If you’re betting on perseverance and your budget isn’t enough for the big guys in this race, the Asus TUF A15 is a must-have. It’s one of the cheapest machines we’ve tested so far and we were surprised. through the appearance of the offer, as well as the shape and design. You make sacrifices to get there, but at this price, they’re all worth it.

The 2024 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 has replaced the game again, adding a stunning OLED display and removing its high-end parts from the lineup for a slim, more ultrabook-oriented design. This is a masterpiece for those looking for the most productive imaginable revel in the intersection of strength and portability.
✅You travel with your laptop: Its 14-inch shape is the best gift here, but the G14 is easy to carry thanks to its light weight and physically powerful design.
✅Screen quality is a priority – this OLED panel is unmatched today and offers a visual experience for both gaming and movies.
✅ You need a fancy aesthetic: A more sophisticated aesthetic means you have a gaming PC that arguably won’t stand out among the high-end ultrabook options. Think of a MacBook with an RTX 4070.
❌ You’re all for frame rates: The RTX 4080 and RTX 4090’s lack of configuration features means you’re not going to beat the high-end specs in the frame rate department.
❌ If you need to upgrade your desktop computer, the G14 is designed to take it with you on the go. If you don’t have a larger machine, you can spend less and leave it plugged in at home.
Design: Asus ditched its iconic LED array cover and opted for a much cleaner (and personally preferable to this reviewer) single diagonal strip. Aside from a new CNC-milled aluminum unibody chassis, a light gray similar to the MacBook Pro, and with a narrow base, this is a gaming computer designed to be compatible with high-end ultrabooks. The removal of larger parts like the RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 from its lineup means that the G14 is now one of the smoothest platform forms on the market at just 1. 5kg, while maintaining a durable form factor.
Features: We’ll have to start with this screen. Asus has teamed up with Samsung for this OLED panel and the effects are ArrayEverything jumps off the screen, from the undeniable developer logos to the game’s launch to the frenetic colors of Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a bit slower in the refresh rate department. However, in everyday games, the color contrast and overall super vivid effect created a wonderful experience.
Those specs have been slightly affected this year. The Ryzen 9 8000-series CPU is a marginal improvement over the 2023 model, and GPUs now start with an RTX 4050 and end with an RTX 4070. This means that the overall performance will be lower, swapped out for a slimmer structure.
Pershapeance: No, the 2024 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 probably won’t perform as well as a previous-generation RTX 4090 model, but with that excellent demo and ultra-sleek form factor, that’s not necessarily necessary. The RTX 4070 in our test platform was more than capable of holding up to over 100fps at 1080p in peak gaming, and it held that position in QHD as well. Performance here is comparable to a similarly specced Razer Blade 14, but at a lower price, with a noticeable improvement on top of the solution. scale.
Asus takes the Zephyrus G14 back to its gaming roots
Verdict: The Zephyrus G14 is the most productive 14-inch gaming PC we’ve gotten our hands on so far, and the 2024 version continues that culture of combining exceptional performance and portability. It arguably wouldn’t succeed at the higher frame rate of a more rugged device model, but with an impressive OLED panel and fantastic form factor, it’ll be used a lot more in everyday life.

Our favorite setup:
We were given a Razer Blade 15, but it showed us just how rugged 15. 6-inch gaming laptops can be. The RTX 3080 Ti/i9-12900H setup I had on my desk was a real monster in its functionality. , this platform’s ability to deliver such functionality while maintaining the cramped chassis we all know and love has cemented its top spot as one of the most productive smart gaming laptops on the market.
Design: Now you know the principle. This is a Razer laptop, so expect a matte black brick with nothing yet, a bright green Razer logo on the lid. The Blade 15 follows those design regulations to the letter, packing all those high-end pieces into a tight build with almost every single detail paid close attention to luxury. We say almost every single one of them, because even though it’s a forged chassis, we still notice plenty of flex in the screen and oscillation of the hinges. Still, it’s as thin as most 15. 6-inch laptops, so the back panel can only take care of so much. The hinge itself proved to be incredibly strong in our tests, so we didn’t have too many issues.
Features: When opening the lid, find a keyboard-less keyboard with extra ventilation underneath and a 4K display on top. It’s an especially capable display, especially since it managed to keep up the speed with more difficult games in our benchmark. The performance, vibrancy, and clarity that this panel will bring to all your games is unprecedented, and in fact, allows for a much more immersive experience.
Under the hood, Razer has managed to squeeze an RTX 3080 Ti into this chassis. At the time of review, only a handful of gaming laptops can boast this rugged GPU, and considering the i9 processor that comes with it, there’s plenty of strength for those who can take care of it.
Performance: I managed to run Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 74fps in 4K with everything at 11 here. Although most difficult titles still struggled with this UHD solution, I was still inspired by the 60 frames per second at 1440p in Red Dead. Redemption 2 and the 78 frames per second in the same solution in The Division 2. All I had to do was let go some more. Adjust the visual effects to achieve frame rates consistent with frame rates in 4K, and it all looked amazing while doing it. that.
“In 2022, the Razer Blade 15 will continue to do precisely what its forefathers did: lead in terms of high-end parts and luxury performance. “
Verdict: It doesn’t get much better than the Razer Blade 15 in terms of performance, component power, and portability. After all, the only other machines offering RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards at the time of writing still can’t compete with this 4K 144Hz demo for the price.
Of course, it’s not a reasonable machine. The Razer Blade 15 2022 starts at $2499. 99 for an RTX 3060 configuration. In fact, you’re paying for that fancy call here, but if you’re looking for one of the most technically capable machines in one of the most portable form factors, the money is well spent.
Note: The Razer Blade 15 2023 is on its way, and once we get our hands on the new device, we’ll update this consultant accordingly.

Our favorite setup:
The Alienware M18 rivals the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 in terms of performance, but is slightly behind the “most powerful” title. However, with a diversity of configuration options, a sleek design, and features more suited for desktop use, this is the most productive 18-inch gaming computer in all of our books.
✅ If you need to play on the big screen without costing too much: the Alienware M18 can be set up starting at $1,699. 99. While it’s still expensive, it’s a far cry from the peak costs that other machines of this scale reach.
✅ Leave your computer on your desk: weighing 4. 23 kg, this object doesn’t go very far. This is an incredibly heavy computer, taking up more space than most. This means that the Alienware M18 is best for those who plan to keep their computer firmly in place.
✅ You don’t need messy cables: Most of the M18’s ports are on the back of the machine, meaning you can plug in your desktop setup without the cables extending sideways. There are also some convenient USB-A and USB-C features on the sides for easy access.
❌ You’re a competitive gamer but still need QHD – the 165Hz frequency on the QHD display option will keep competitive gamers engaged. However, the FHD option is aimed at those who are more inclined to speed, with a massive 480Hz refresh rate.
❌ You need the display quality possible: we’ve found that the matte case makes the screen look significantly duller than its competitors, which also has an effect on the colour contrast.
❌ You need more tactics for traveling: all 18-inch laptops are difficult to carry, but this one is especially so. There are thinner and lighter machines for those who still need the opportunity to display a display on the road.
Design: The Alienware M18 had a wonder for us when we first opened the box. The smooth slope of the front lip to a thin tapered shape means the overall design feels more manoeuvrable than the boxier Strix Scar 18 below. No, it is It’s not a computer by any means, it still has a large size of 410 x 319 x 25mm and a hefty weight of 4. 23kg, but its sleek design makes it look a little less bulky on a desk. Elsewhere, you have all the design elements of an Alienware platform. A cool aluminum lid sports an embossed 18 on top, with the plastic main frame keeping the same gray aesthetic throughout. Of course, there’s still a great RGB light display to admire, with a more sophisticated technique than Asus’.
Features: Of course, the big player here is the 18-inch screen. Dell has made some attractive choices with the specs it offers here, there are two features; QHD 165 Hz or FHD 480 Hz. It would have been great to have a middle-of-the-road option: the Razer Blade 18 and Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 have found a fulfilling home in the 240Hz QHD region. While motion is still smooth, top frame-rate games can gain a bit more of an edge with improved overall handling. We also noticed that this demo is less brilliant than the Razer and Asus features and doesn’t offer any additional HDR capability.
However, with just the right variety of ports, a built-in 1080p webcam, and a full-size keyboard (with full-size numeric keypad), it seems like a true choice for a desktop. However, the features of the component are paints in the favor of the M18. With RTX 4060 configurations presented at prices under $2000, the Alienware M18 wins in the selection category. This is best if you’re looking for big-screen entertainment but don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on graphics cards. that you probably wouldn’t get the most out of.
Performance: The Alienware M18 nearly outperformed the Strix Scar 18 in our tests, even outperforming it in a handful of benchmarking scenarios. While the Asus platform is still the most productive, there are still some features under the hood. In fact, the M18 performed better in more difficult titles like Returnal and Total War: Three Kingdoms, and still included triple-digit frame rates at the highest graphics settings with local resolution.
Yes, Alienware has made some sacrifices along the way, in terms of display, speakers, and portability, but if you’re looking for a desktop replacement that really fits your setup, you’ve come to the right place.
Verdict: The Alienware M18 makes some sacrifices, but in doing so it manages to position itself as an incredibly flexible gaming laptop. You can set it to the ceiling if you have the budget, or keep things firmer for big-screen gaming. That’s all many 18-inch TVs can claim, and especially machines that manage to squeeze so much force out of their components.

Editor’s Note: There’s a new 2024 Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 on the shelves lately, however, the innovations under the hood are marginal, resulting in functionality largely on par (and less) than the 2023 option. You’re upgrading to an ROG Nebula Mini LED is demonstrated with the new model, but given that we comparatively have higher numbers on last year’s platform, we’re keeping the 2023 iteration in its position here.
18-inch gaming handhelds are here, and while most struggle to define themselves compared to cheaper desktop laptops and 16-inch handhelds, the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 is making its way to the more practical place. After all, with benchmark numbers that put it at the top of our scoreboard (and just taking down the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16), it’s the toughest platform tested to date. And that can’t be ignored.
✅ Performance is your most sensible priority: there’s no hiding it, the Scar 18 can work. If you need to look for the highest frame rates imaginable (and make sure they’re reliable), this is the most productive option we’ve discovered. far.
✅ You have a larger table: This larger footprint takes up the entire table area. While it’s designed to stay close to your permanent setup, it’s worth noting that you need plenty of space to place it.
✅ You’re an RGB fanatic: From the rear grille to the front edge, the Scar 18 shines brightly thanks to its RGB LEDs. If you have a setup designed to take advantage of a more colorful design, appreciate this one.
❌ You want to travel with your laptop: The Strix Scar 18 isn’t svelte enough to travel with you on a daily basis, or even regularly. If you want a partner for regular commuting, something smaller and lighter.
❌ You have to keep the cables tidy: the port is placed on its side, which is frustrating for a giant confined to the office. If loose wires are very likely to disrupt your setup, it’s worth finding a style that helps keep your I/O in the back.
❌ You prefer a more sophisticated aesthetic: Not all of those RGB fixtures are sophisticated, but they can be turned off. The translucent plastic casing and ambitious angular lines of the lid cannot.
Design: Appearance is subjective, but translucent plastic and RGB lighting fixtures have the most sophisticated aesthetics and arguably won’t suit everyone. This plastic chassis is a bit sad in this price range. . . In a rough estimate. However, taking a look at the nearly $5,000 price tag of the all-aluminum Razer Blade 18 brings us back to this less expensive version. Plastic may look a little less luxurious, but it’s strong, dense, and durable to the hand.
Instead, it’s the ports that will get in the way. You get a counterfeit selection, but you hit every connection on the left or right flank of a gaming computer that’s designed to rest (and stay; this item is 80 consistent). (a penny heavier than the Zephyrus G14) on a table is an oversight. These cables will become complicated temporarily.
Features: Asus has avoided adding an expensive Mini LED display to its Scar 18, instead focusing the load on its components, but we were still inspired by the clarity and contrast of this fast 240Hz panel. Plus, we have the merit of the Intel i9-13980HX processor, and that’s not something many gaming laptops can boast about.
With a full-size keyboard (yes, adding a numeric keypad), 4 wonderful speakers, a MUX switch, and rugged cooling, there’s still plenty to do here. It’s a wonderful feature set that the Razer Blade 18 (which neglects the numeric keypad) puts into an even lighter chassis than the Alienware M18.
Performance: This is where we get to the smart part. Before we tried Scar 18, the dual-screen Zephyrus Duo 16 was the fullest-capacity gaming computer we had in our hands. Yes, the Duo 16 showed lower numbers when running it. On paper, however, the 18-inch model was left behind. With Fire Strike with a score of 34,507 and Time Spy with a score of 20,132, things were already underway. It surpassed the RTX 4090 Razer Blade 18’s respective scores of 26,844/16,367 through a mile and stabilized at the 4090 Zephyrus’ 36,768/15,713 figures.
Between incredibly high frame rates, rock-solid playback capability, and even the ability to output in 4K (ray-traced, no less), it’s the most productive functionality ever seen in a gaming laptop.
Add in over a hundred consistent frames per moment in the most productive graphics settings of Returnal, Total War: Three Kingdoms, and Hitman 3 and it’s evident that this is a rugged machine. The consistency of those scores makes it the toughest gaming computer of all time. proven.
Verdict: The Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 may not be for everyone. In fact, it is aimed at very few players. However, if you’re looking for a desktop that also offers a portability option from time to time, this is the toughest option we’ve tested so far.

The HP Omen Transcend 14 succeeded its 16-inch sibling this year. The ultra-thin device has a lightweight profile, best for running and gaming on the go, but you need to have a USB-C charger handy.
✅You travel with your laptop: If you want to go outside, this is one of the lightest tactics to do it right now.
✅ You prioritize screen quality: some of your money goes to your display, so if you need to spend a little more than you would on a budget device, you’ll be handsomely rewarded with an OLED panel here.
✅ You’re satisfied with having a spare cable: Despite being a work-play hybrid, the HP Omen Transcend 14 still doesn’t offer the longest battery life. USB-C charging makes it easier, but keep a spare cable handy. .
❌ You’re prioritizing functionality over form: If you’re looking for frame rates, a thin gaming PC may not be the right choice for you. There is rarely enough space here to run the harder pieces needed.
❌ You only use your computer in daylight: This brightness on the screen can be a bit significant if you only use your computer in bright situations.
❌ You want an all-day battery: If you rarely have the ability to plug it in while you’re on the go, you might want to look for an alternative. The battery in this device is rarely as tough as it is for a hybrid system.
Design: The HP Omen Transcend 14 is really small. The 14-inch shape is convenient here, but the floating chassis design also allows parts to be thinner in the hand and its low weight makes it suitable for backpacks as well. Build quality takes a slight hit to increase the numbers. Low: We discovered a noticeable flex in the lid and main deck area, despite its aluminum construction.
Like many gaming laptops in 2024, Transcend rejects the old gamer aesthetic of yesteryear. Instead, it has a crisp, blank frame with minimal branding and nothing external to speak of. An undeniable “Omen” is stamped in the middle of a soft-touch matte cover, with text also in the back corner of the hanging edge.
Features: Like the HP Omen Transcend 16 before it, the 14-inch style maintains its conservative specs. There are 3 lower-tier graphics cards to use, with the RTX 4070 option to upgrade the CPU from an Intel Core Ultra 7 to an Ultra nine. Style for a worthwhile hike.
However, on the surface, you also get one of the most productive displays used in a gaming laptop. Like the OLED panel on the 2024 Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, this demo delivers fantastic, crisp visuals with incredibly colorful and detailed color control. It’s limited to 120Hz, but that’s general at this level. You also get a crisp 1800p resolution.
Performance: This small 14-inch gaming PC surprised us in testing. You’ll want to tweak the fan settings before you achieve the machine’s highest frame rates imaginable, but once you do, you’ll get pretty impressive numbers.
Yes, the CPU under the hood is largely an iterative upgrade from last year’s list and the GPU remains the same; However, this is a device with a lot of tricks for functionality by moving away from the perspective of the core components. 4060 in our test unit ran at less than 65W power, we still managed to demonstrate more than achievable frame rates and voltage tests at 1080p and max settings at 1600p.
This is a device aimed at those looking to take their device anywhere and for less money than similar features from Asus and Razer.
Verdict: A premium price in the RTX 4060 genre means we still recommend the less expensive Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (at MSRP) to anyone looking for the most productive 14-inch gaming laptop. However, if you’re looking for a limited taste for a sophisticated form and still want to remain the OLED display from the Asus giant, the HP Omen is your best bet.

Every gaming PC we review is stress tested against a number of benchmarking processes and daily use. We conduct a standardized series of performance tests on the platform, comparing High and Ultra/Higher grades on:
We perform such tests either at 1080p and other local resolutions presented through individual system.
We then checked the GPUs in those gaming laptops with 3DMark Firestrike and Firestrike Extreme (for 1440p platforms), Firestrike Ultra for our 4K machines. We also use the PC Mark 10 checks (including battery performance), as well as Sky Diver, Cinebench and Crystal Disc Mark.
Of course, we also live with those machines. We locate the most productive gaming laptops by gaming, watching, and running them for as long as possible, as we would our own machines (while pushing them a little further for the sake of science).
Learn more about how we place the generation with our comprehensive hardware policy and find out precisely how we verify gaming laptops.
Not sure what screen length you’d prefer and what minimum specs you’d like to get in your search for the most productive gaming laptop? If you need help with this issue, we’re here to help.
In our opinion, the key is to opt for anything that strikes a balance between performance, budget, and parts – you need anything that allows you to play your favorite games now while also having enough bandwidth to find a new favorite in the future.
So, what’s your first step when you start looking for the best gaming laptop? You can start by having a budget or overall value limit in mind, but in general (and as you might expect), you need to prioritize. the hardware of the machine. Coming to this page, you’re looking for a gaming-focused portable powerhouse, and as a result, you need to aim for the top in the graphics card department, such as a GPU from Nvidia’s RTX family of cards.
This can be a wonderful starting point to narrow down your search, but don’t also look at laptops with a 16 series card, as they offer an incredible price when complemented by other well-balanced components. A quick note on components: availability, as everyone knows, has been incredibly unreliable and volatile over the past few months. So possibly, when you make a stopover in stores or brands of those machines, only secure configurations are available at that time.
If you’re not sure what parts you need, consider the processors and GPUs featured in the tiers. If you’re just going for lighter and not too easy games, you may fall into the access tier, if you’re looking to reach the top settings with a few tweaks while also hitting 60fps, the mid-range is worth looking for. However, if you opt for the Ultra setting for most difficult titles, the most productive gaming PC for you might be a more premium option.
In general, the most productive gaming PC logos come with Razer, Alienware, MSI, Asus, and Acer. Lately, however, there are a number of corporations vying for the title, from budget-conscious developers to high-end industry staples. The most productive logo on gaming PCs may depend on how much you’re willing to pay and how much additional features like mechanical keyboards and RGB lighting in your chassis cost you. Alienware, for example, produces amazing machines with those built-in features, but at a premium price, while Acer’s machines tend to be more conservative in their designs but offer discounted prices.
It’s completely imaginable to spend less than $1,000 when buying one of the most productive gaming laptops on the market. Our favorite models in this price diversity are the Dell G1five and the Asus TUF Dash F1five, although the Acer Nitro 5 also offers a great price in its less expensive configurations. You might be upgrading to 8GB of RAM or a cheaper edition of an Intel processor, but if you’re betting on lighter titles or aren’t worried about newer, better performance, there are plenty of options.
Buying one of the newer Nvidia GPUs in your gaming computer doesn’t have to be an expensive affair – RTX 3050 machines have been spotted at prices that in the past would have been offered on older GTX models. Nvidia’s RTX chips are lately part of the 30-series – one more than the 20-series introduced last year – and find that the vast majority of gaming PCs on the shelves play with them. That doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll want it if you’re just betting on smaller games on a budget, in which case, a GTX 1650 is still a valid consideration. However, at the end of the day, if you buy a gaming PC today, the possible options on offer will revolve around the RTX 30 Series lineup.
If you’re looking to save money, look for plenty of RTX 3050 computers and RTX 3060 computer deals if you’re looking for something with a little more power. However, if you’re aiming big, it’s worth checking out. Discover all the RTX 3070 PCs on offer, as well as significant savings on RTX 3080 PC deals.

As a hardware editor at GamesRadar, I first came to our sister TechRadar’s hardware before moving on to GamesRadar. In the meantime, I’ve written for Tom’s Guide, Wireframe, The Indie Game Web, and That Video Game Blog, covering everything from launch. Now, I’m focusing on the Nintendo Switch, gaming laptops (and the keyboards and mice that come with them) and I’m on the lookout for anything that recommends that virtual truth is about to take over our lives.
