This year, there has been a glut of processors from AMD and Intel for desktop PCs, with both vendors releasing new processor architectures and style variants of older designs.
In the corner of Team Red, 2024 with a Zen 3 chip, in the form of Ryzen 7 5700x3d. Basically, it is nothing more than a processor that is not intelligent enough to sell as Ryzen 7 5800x3D; It could be said that it is better because it is much less expensive but not much slower.
Zen 5 made an official appearance in August, to a somewhat muted reception. That’s because despite being a complete architectural overhaul, it isn’t that much faster than Zen 4. But for sheer processing power, the Ryzen 9 9950X is hard to beat. Particularly when it uses less power than the competition.
We all had high hopes for the Intel Core ultra 200s chips, but it’s fair to say that they fell short of their goal. Truth be told, most PC gaming enthusiasts were only interested in a single processor and when the Ryzen 7 9800X3-d finally appeared, we weren’t disappointed. The third generation of AMD V-Cache 3-d is still just as magical.
I’ve specifically mentioned these three processors because those are the nominees for best gaming CPU of 2024. We’ll announce the winner on New Year’s Eve but for now, let’s see why they were chosen.
AMD Ryzen 7 5700x3d The first Zen 3 processor made its way back in November 2020, so when AMD announced another style in this old range, we were extremely happy to see the AM4 socket still supported with new processors. Technically, it is not new because its anchor, the Ryzen 7 5800x3d, made the impression in April 2022.
Not all chips on the production line make the cut, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be used. In this case, the Ryzen 7 5700x3d is just a 5800x3D, but with 400 MHz the base was removed and the clocks were increased. Other than that, it’s the same processor. Except it’s significantly less expensive — up to $200 less at certain times of the year.
As a drop-in upgrade to any AM4 gaming PC, it’s a fantastic option, as that stack of 3D V-Cache can substantially boost the performance of many games. For anyone looking to build a budget gaming rig, it’s a no-brainer.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800×3-D We knew that it would be launched at some point in 2024, however, after the slightly disappointing launch of Zen 5, we wonder if the V-Cache 3-D edition of the Ryzen 7 9700X would be to value the wait . Well, it was and it is fair to say that the Ryzen 7 9800×3-D only made everyone about the best improvement of Zen 5 on Zen 4.
Most of this is due to the third generation of the third V-Cache generation. The entire review transferred the additional L3 cache memory of the most sensible of the fundamental chiplet to the absence of everything. Which eliminated the thermal barrier preventing the last generation from Ryzen 7 7800x3d to be timed.
It’s not particularly cheap, mind, and there’s always the risk that the Zen 5 Ryzen 9 X3D models, which should appear early next year, will be even better. But even if that turns out to be the case, there’s no denying that this is the CPU that most gamers want right now.

AMD Ryzen Nine NinenineFive0x At first glance, the architecture of AMD’s Zen Five processor does not appear very different from that of Zen 4, and the Ryzen Nine000 series processors very similar to those of the 7000 series. But AMD had reworked almost all parts of its fundamental design and, in the case of the Ryzen Nine NinenineFive0x, the updates lead to a difficult chip.
Of course, 16 cores and 32 threads aren’t mandatory to play games, but if one plays and runs on the same PC, then there’s nothing that can match the 9950X in terms of forceArray processing. The fact that it does all of this without consuming more than 230W of power is a remarkable feat of engineering.
3D V-Cache would possibly get all the praise of the games, but the Ninenine50x is not far behind: it only advances thanks to the 14K Inine nucleus that diverts the energy (and the Nine800x3d, of course), but still, only in some games . You will have to pay a small fortune to have a Nine Ninenine50x Ryzen, but it will probably not disappoint what you can do.

The winner of the PC Gamer Hardware Award for the best gaming CPU will be announced on New Year’s Eve. AMD wins no matter what but only one of its 2024 CPUs can be crowned best.
Nick, The Game and PCs met for the first time in 1981, with the case of love that begins in a Sinclair ZX81 in the form of the kit and an electronic book about Zx Basic. Eventually it has become a professor of Physics and PC sciences, but throughout the last decade of 1990, it is time to cut their teeth writing for a long and missing site of British technology. Then he did the same in Madonion, helping to write the assistance files for 3dmark and PCMark. After a short period that runs on Beyond3D. com, Nick joined Futuremark (renamed Madonion) full -time, who serves as a chief editor for his game and hardware section, Yougamers. After the closed site, he has become a professor of engineering and PC science for many years, but the writing error was lost. Years at Techspot. com and more than one hundred long articles about anything and everything.
