As May comes to an end and June begins, several occasions are planned in the domain over the next few weeks.
The first day of Memorial Day weekend is the ever-popular Garden Jubilee, which will take place Saturday and Sunday on Main Street.
Garden Jubilee scheduled for this weekend
Garden lovers will gather in downtown Hendersonville on Memorial Day weekend for the Garden Jubilee, which is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, according to a press release from Visit Hendersonville.
One of the largest gardening exhibits in the area, the green-filled two-day birthday party fills Main Street with plants, gardening tools and accessories. Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic during the event.
The past two years have noticed a different event due to the pandemic, but this year brings back favorite features, such as vendors lining Main Street and a number of speakers on the guest center stage.
“We’re thrilled to be back for a full festival on the street,” said Amy Boswell of Visit Hendersonville. “It was great to be able to replace the occasion and still have the pandemic, but it feels smart to get back to our general holidays. “
Approximately 150 vendors will be located along seven blocks of Main Street. Local and regional nurseries sell thousands of plants, adding annuals, perennials, vegetables and fruits, herbs and varieties. Other offerings include lawn-themed artwork, garden furniture, jewelry, lawn tools, planters, wind chimes and nest boxes, according to the statement.
An addition to this year’s Jubilee is Pollinator Alley. The tour highlights the Bee Mural and Pollinator Garden at Hands On!Children’s Museum, as well as new artwork on sidewalks and other gardening facilities.

American Kennel Club Canine Agility Tests Begin Friday
WNC’s Blue Ridge Agility Club will host the American Kennel Club’s Dog Agility Trails, which will be held Monday at the West North Carolina Agricultural Center. Testing will take place from 8 am to 4 pm. From Friday to Sunday and then from 8 to 13 on Mondays.
Admission is free. According to a press release, more than three hundred purebred dogs from across the Southeast will compete in other degrees of difficulty opposite others and the clock. There will be around 70 breeds registered in AKC competing.
Four guided walks through the center for June
Three popular old guided walks will be featured in June, as well as a new guided walk: murals, mosaics and ghost signs, according to a recent Publication by Guided History Walks.
Hendersonville’s guided historical walks provide more than 90-minute walks through the city’s various historic spaces, adding along Main Street (Friday, June 3, 10 a. m. ). m. ), Oakdale Cemetery (Friday, June 10, 10 a. a. Avenida Barrio (Friday, June 17, 10 a. m. ) and Murals, Mosaics and Ghost Signs downtown (Friday, June 24, 10 a. m. ).

Ace will collaborate with VFW to distribute 1 million U. S. flags. U. S. Nationwide
Carolina Ace Hardware is once again participating with Foreign War Veterans (VFW) to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. Consumers who Carolina Ace Hardware on Saturday will get a loose 8 x 12-inch American flag, while a momentary flag will be delivered to its VFW Post 5206 to mark and honor veterans’ graves this Memorial Day.
“Carolina Ace Hardware salutes the many brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and we will honor them this Memorial Day by participating in the gift of one million American flags,” said Greg Paul, owner of Carolina Ace Hardware. We are grateful to the spouse of our local VFW Post 5206, who has given so much to the veterans of our community.
Last year, Ace Hardware shipped more than 550,000 flags to 1909 VFW stations across the country. The gift of the EE. UU. se flag aligns with Ace Hardware’s long history of supporting veterans across the country.
Hendersonville’s third annual triathlon arrives in June
Hendersonville’s third annual triathlon, presented through Hunter Subaru, is scheduled for Sunday, June 26.
Athletes will swim 400 meters at Patton Park Pool, a 50-meter heated Olympic pool operated through the YMCA of western North Carolina. The 12. 5-mile motorcycle trail leaves town and then follows one direction through the county’s country roads before returning to Patton Park. The last level will be a more commonly flat and fastest 5 km drive on the shady Oklawaha Greenway.
As a component of the ongoing effort to give back to the local community, Hendersonville Triathlon donations will go to the iDream Athlete Foundation, Friends of the Oklawaha Greenway and WNC YMCA.

The city will be closed on Memorial Day
Hendersonville City Government will be closed Monday for Memorial Day.
Garbage collection, recycling and brushes for the city of Hendersonville consumers will take place on Mondays due to the holiday calendar. Monday consumer pickup will be delayed by a week and pickup will resume Monday, June 6. bags for those consumers will be collected on June 6.
