Cook graduated from Robertsdale in 1978 and from Auburn University in 1982.
The district published an article about the gift Wednesday, comparing the tools to a “Christmas morning” gift for students.
“We were speechless. Because of our growth, we found ourselves in a scenario where we didn’t have enough tools for this fall. We would have had more interns than tools and needed $140,000 to get there,” said group director LT Hughes. , he wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
The district is still increasing the budget for the remaining $40,000 needed for the program.
