Apple officially introduced iOS 18 last month, with a redesigned home screen, Apple Intelligence, RCS, and more. Since then, the company has been testing the first versions of this upcoming OS update with developers and enthusiasts. It’s all about mitigating insects and optimizing functionality ahead of the public release this fall. iOS 18 beta 3 is now available to those enrolled in the Apple Developer Program and comprises some of the announced additions.
We install iOS 18 beta 3 on an iPhone 15 Pro Max to find out what new additions it contains. Beyond the typical bug fixes and minor tweaks, this beta version includes some of the previously announced features, such as InSight in the Apple TV app. . This tool lists the actors on screen as well as the names of the included music tracks.
This beta version also automatically provides dark icons for non-optimized third-party apps, saving developers from having to manually adjust their submissions. It also includes a dynamic wallpaper and extends RCS to more countries.
iOS 18 beta 1 and 2 brought a wide variety of new features, adding the revamped home screen with the ringtone of app icons, customizable center, RCS, iPhone mirroring support, advanced screen sharing in FaceTime, and much more. Since the maximum of the announced additions were not included in those releases, we expect the long-term iOS 18 betas to implement them.
We do not propose to install the iOS 18 beta on your number one iPhone because the software is still buggy and unpredictable. Instead, you can wait for the public beta scheduled for next week, as all included issues appear to be finalized by then. If you have a spare iPhone, you can download the third iOS 18 developer beta by following the steps below:
