Apple released iOS 15. 5 on May 16, along with iPadOS 15. 5.
You can download iOS 15. 5 by going to Settings> General> Software Update> Download and Install. The 15. 5 update is approximately 630 MB.
The maximum functional update in the 15. 5 edition is the inclusion of the Send and Ask buttons for Apple Cash. With those buttons in iOS 15. 5, you can get and send cash directly from your Apple Cash card, saving you a few steps for those transactions.
A new feature in iOS 15. 5 allows you to override podcast app settings to better manage your phone’s storage. The settings allow you to restrict the episodes stored on your phone and you can delete older episodes.
iOS 15. 5 modifies the Photo Memories feature. Photos will no longer feature memories of “sensitive places”, whose 9to5Mac ratings are similar lately to the Holocaust. It is possible that Apple will expand this list of places in the future.
Another update is that the iTunes Pass feature for Wallet is now called Apple Balance. You will now find a separate card in Apple Wallet for Apple Balance, as if it were a credit card in your wallet.
There’s no Apple Classical app in iOS 15. 5. But MacRumors discovered references to a new Apple Classical app in beta 15. 5 that appears to be the end of Apple’s acquisition of classical music streaming service Primephonic last year. Future iOS updates may come with a standalone app for classical music.
iOS 15. 5 also offers more for SportsKit, as Apple integrates live baseball into its content catalog.
