Apple is delaying plans for a new main campus in North Carolina, the Triangle Business Journal reports.

The tech giant told the publication that it suspended artwork on campus and is working with North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper and the North Carolina Department of Commerce to extend the project’s timeline by four years. No explanation for the delay has yet been given, but Apple said it was still committed to construction in North Carolina.

The Wake County, North Carolina, campus was announced in 2018. Since then, progress has been slower than expected. Apple submitted site work plans on May 30, 2023 to begin moving earth, according to WRAL Tech Wire. The tech giant had already earned $1. 2 billion in incentives from the state.
