Samsung is expected to hold another Galaxy Unpacked event in mid-to-late January 2025 to launch the Galaxy S25 family of phones with the next-generation Galaxy AI. A fourth phone may appear, but not until the end of the year; This would be the narrow shape of the special edition. Like the Galaxy ZFold 6 Narrow Special Edition, this is expected to be a popular phone thanks to the limited production on offer:
“New highlights on Samsung’s plans for the production of the Galaxy S25 Special Edition were reported this weekend through the ETNews team. While the three-million-unit series will be seven times larger than the 400,000-unit Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, that’s only ten percent of the expected sales of the Galaxy S25 family, or 35 million. “

Speaking of the Galaxy Z Fold6, Samsung was positive about foldable device adoption rates when it introduced its foldable lineup in 2020, announcing that 50% of its flagship devices would be foldable by 2025. This figure is still out of Samsung’s reach and the industry. as a whole. The breakdown of the flagship products is largely in favor of the Candybar phones:
“While total shipments are expected to reach approximately 18 million devices in 2024, those phones still make up less than 2% of the overall smartphone market. Customers are obviously in no rush to move on. “

“[MediaTek’s results] claim a 41% boost to multi-core performance over the Dimensity 8300. The company also says peak power use has been reduced by as much as 44%. We’re keen to see what this means for everyday power consumption, though.”
