Back to the news and big titles this week in the Android world, adding the main points and reactions of the Galaxy Unpacked, the Galaxy Ai update, the wonder of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, the UNPACKED updates from GoogleArray, the definitive foldable from Oppo , Google Pixel plans, Xiaomi’s Steam pill, and Qualcomm’s slower 8 Elite chipset.

This week’s Android News is governed via Samsung’s Galaxy Unboxed event, which saw Galaxy AI updates, the debut of the Galaxy S25, S25, and S25 UTLRA, and a tax of the S25 Edge. From the press release:
“The Galaxy S25 series has set a new standard for mobile AI innovation through an operational AI formula that we built from the ground up,” said TM Roh, president and chief mobile experience officer at Samsung Electronics, in his keynote address. Thanks to UI 7 and its built-in AI agents, users can easily enjoy a more personalized, intuitive and natural cellular experience than ever. ”

Even so, the silenced online reaction. Forbes Callum Booth taxpayer explores the reaction:
“. . . hand hand are already so complex and iterated, especially in a sense of design, we have now achieved an optimal form and telephone structure. With the maximum sensible of that, the maximum of the things that other people use each Day, like cameras or screen is already excellent, so making notable innovations becomes more complicated every year.

Ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event, I sat down with Samsung executives Annika Bizon and Kadesh Beckford to talk about the new hardware, partnerships, and software driving Galaxy AI and the Galaxy S25 family. They addressed a curious but important issue… backing up the profile that Galaxy AI builds of you:
“On the device we have a new private knowledge engine with the logo,” Beckford said. “If you lost your device and logged into your SamsungArray account. . . You will then be returned to your new device. The granular main points will be like a carbon copy of the private knowledge that the engine has learned about your previous S25. “.

While the curtain fell on the launch of the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra, Samsung still had one thing. Defeating Apple with the fist, brought a thin S25, S25 Edge:
“Samsung had phone devices on display at Unbacked, no one can touch them. Several devices were facing each other and displayed a flat slab with the same rounded corners that were just introduced on the S25 Ultra. “

As part of Galaxy Unpacked, Google announced several Android updates that will debut on the Galasxy S25. AI updates are included, but there’s more to version including updates to Gemini on Android, Circle To Search and improved accessibility features with LE audio:
“For other deaf people or with hearing problems, we have incorporated audio capabilities, the next generation of Bluetooth, to the Galaxy S25 devices. This update allows hands -free calls, easy -to -use personalized audio settings Low latency for gn and oticon hearing aids when combined with a Galaxy S25 device with Android 15 “.

When you want to make a thin device, there are certain things that get in the way of a war-thin profile. Oppo’s upcoming Find N5 has found such an issue. The USB-C port is as thin as the profile can go:

While plans for the Pixel 9a and Pixel 10 are on a complex level (including the new Tensor G5 for the Pixel 10 family), we have the first one for the Pixel 11 from 2026. And they look. . . fierce:

Xiaomi is working on a new gaming tool that should allow users to play Windows games on their hardware. It’s currently targeted at tablets, and allows local play:

Qualcomm has released a variant of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It offers slightly less performance than the current models but looks to be tailored to allow efficient operation in flagship foldables, which have tighter thermal profiles:
