Anbernic’s next gaming laptop may have a Ryzen 7 7840U chip (Anbernic Win701)

Anbernic is a Chinese company that manufactures handheld game consoles. Until recently, most Android or Linux systems were designed for old-fashioned games. But last year, the company introduced Anbernic Win600, an affordable gateway to the developing sector of gaming laptops.

The company is now preparing to launch a new style called Anbernic Win701. And while the main things are smooth for now, a number of recent leaks suggest Anbernic’s current gaming laptop could be a lot tougher than the first.

The Anbernic Win600 was designed to compete on price rather than performance. It comes with a choice of dual-core AMD Athlon 3020e or 3050e processors with built-in Radeon Vega 3 graphics at 1GHz and DDR4-2400 memory support.

Meanwhile, Win701 is expected to feature an AMD Ryzen 7 78four0U processor with 8 AMD Zen CPU cores, 16 threads, and a built-in Radeon 780M graphics card with 12 RDNA 3 compute sets and for GPU speeds up to 2. 7GHz.

The Ryzen 7 7840U chip is particularly rugged than any other from the Win600, and is essentially the same processor as the Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip included in the Asus ROG Ally (the main differences being that the Z1 Extreme doesn’t have a compromised processor). AI accelerator and features some traditional configurations for use on wearable devices. )

Anbernic has not yet officially presented the Win701, but this year we were able to see the design for the first time thanks to a patent application with some line drawings. Now, the NITTRX YouTube channel has released a short video showing a running prototype with some data on the processor and configuration (most likely, those photographs are from Chinese social media, but I haven’t found the original source yet).

Among other things, we can see that there are LED lighting fixtures under the controllers, which appears to be a 7-inch display, a fan for active cooling, and a 5000mAh 38Wh battery.

The price is known, but it is very likely that the Win701 will charge at least twice as much as the Win600, whose starting price is around $300 for models with Athlon 3020e chips or $350 for models with Athlon 3050e processors.
