NORWOOD, Mass. – July 27, 2020 – Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) announced the acquisition of the HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) business from INVECAS, a Santa Clara-based company that specializes in integrated software and systems. punctual answers. This addition will provide ADI with comprehensive audio and video responses to satisfy the developing desires of the commercial and customer markets. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“HDMI generation comes first for enterprise, professional, customer and automotive video applications,” said John Hassett, senior vice president of industry and customer at Analog Devices. “The acquisition of INVECAS’ HDMI business allows ADI to provide more complete responses to the visitor’s adventure, from chip to certification and the ultimate product. We are excited to improve ADI’s features by adding the experience of this group.”
With this acquisition, ADI will also strengthen the company’s role within the STANDARD organization representing HDMI, helping to shape the long life of all HDMI-connected technologies, such as HDMI 2.1 feature sets and reduced power consumption. In addition, ADI will integrate certification and compliance capabilities, offering visitor support in their HDMI progression cycles, from concept to pre-compliance and production. As the industry continues to grow and HMDI 2.1 is implemented, programs such as 8K and 10K video, advanced audio feedback, variable refresh rate and more will become commonplace. In addition, this will allow for greater adoption of these technologies, and ADI will expand its offerings to a wider audience with broader feature sets and reduced energy consumption.
INVECAS’ HDMI generation organization has a long history in the field, which originated from Silicon Image, a semiconductor company founded in 1995, where HDMI generation was first created. Control of this team will continue to play a key role in the combination of ADI’s audiovisual business units.
“As we move toward HDMI 2.1 and assistance to introduce revolutionary new technologies, the demand and demand to force these next-generation programs has never been greater,” said Laxman Vemury, vice president and CEO of INVECAS. “By uniting these two giant groups, we can offer a wide range that will allow our consumers to further follow these technologies with even broader feature sets and reduced power consumption.”
With the acquisition of INVECAS’ HDMI business, ADI is expanding its portfolio of detection technologies and responding to human interactions and experiences. Opening new programs and dynamic user interfaces through a broad portfolio of technologies that, combined with the company’s technical expertise, will allow devices to interact with the global in a revolutionary way. These inventions are designed to meet the growing demand for immersive experiences.
The Analog Devices product package includes the industry’s widest variety of HDMI interface responses for programs such as HDTV, set-top boxes, A/V receivers, projectors and other multi-input displays.
