Amazon’s National Video Telemedicine Visits to a Virtual Clinic

Amazon makes it easy for the doctor without leaving home.

The retail titan is adding video in all 50 states to its virtual clinic, which was unveiled last fall.

The clinic, which doesn’t settle for insurance, began last year by focusing on SMS visits, which are still available in 34 states. The new video telemedicine option is also available in Washington, D. C.

Amazon’s 24/7 virtual clinic provides care for over 30 fitness issues and is available through their online page or app. The service is intended for adults between the ages of 18 and 64, according to its online page.

In addition to virtual care, Amazon sells prescription drugs in its Amazon Pharmacy business and has strengthened its presence with hospital care.

Earlier this year, Amazon finalized a $3. 9 billion acquisition of number one care provider One Medical, which had about 815,000 consumers and 214 medical practices in more than 20 markets, The Associated Press reported.

The Associated Press contributed to this report. This story reported in Washington, D. C.
