Amazon Video Announces New Movies and TV Shows for August (2020)

Amazon has revealed the list of new titles coming to its Prime Video platform in the U.S. For August, and it must be said that it is a fairly scarce offer compared to the maximum months.

There are fewer than 60 new titles in total, and this includes 14 first seasons of library TV series that are temporarily used in Amazon Prime Video Basic from the same previous position in Prime Video Channels for promotional purposes.

Amazon has at least controlled it to come with a decent number of worthy titles among its meager set of August additions.

Looking first at the new Amazon Prime Originals, the ultimate attraction is probably Prime Rewind: Inside ‘The Boys’. This “afterdisplay” is designed to give enthusiasts a glimpse of the making of Amazon’s superhero comedy series and provide a “safe space” for enthusiasts to locate discussions about what just happened in the new episode. Host Aisha Tyler will join weekly through the cast and team members, and the exhibition promises exclusive breakthroughs for the upcoming episodes of The Boys.

Inside The Boys will debut on August 28 with a retrospective of the Boys’ first season, before beginning to watch each and every new weekly episode of the second season from September 4 to the end of the new season on October 8.

Fans of the TV game show Survivor, meanwhile, they can rejoice in the new adventure of the author of this exhibition, World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji. Organized through Bear Grylls, this series follows 66 groups from 30 countries that run frequently for 11 days over many miles of Fiji’s rugged terrain. Amazon Prime subscribers can access it from August 14.

Amazon also has a new original film that will debut in August. Chemical Hearts is presented as a teen/romantic drama about a 17-year-old romantic woman who ends up falling in love with a new woman with a tragic secret while he works with her at the school newspaper. This will be done in HDR (not mentioned 4K) from August 21.

The other two Amazon Originals in August are aimed at young children. First there will be new episodes of Jessy and Nessy (the adventures of a young woman and her five-thousand-year-old sea monster friend monster) starting August 7, while Clifford The Big Red Dog returns to action with new episodes starting August 21.

As for the highlights of the films, the maximum number of new titles recently released for their Amazon Prime Video subscription in August are Dora and the Lost City of Gold, Arkansas, The Peanut Butter Falcon and Capone.

The most productive of them, curiously, is the film Dora (available from August 3rd). It combines strangely superior production values with a non-secular, self-aware factual script that gives a lot of laughter to adults and children. Especially in his first half.

The peanut butter falcon is also valued (as of August 6). While the story of a child with Down syndrome who escapes from a nursing home to pursue his dream of attending a wrestling school is light, there is enough center and charm to highlight the day without the procedure collapsing into a schmaltz.

Tom Hardy does some appealing things with his functionality as the main character of capone (available from August 10), however, the film’s attempt to bring a technique similar to David Lynch to his portrayal of the celebrated gangster is more shameful than intriguing.

The Arkansas crime film believes it is much cooler and less common than it is, and as a result ends up failing despite a cast that includes Liam Hemsworth, John Malkovich and Vivica A. Fox.

If you’re willing to spit more on your Prime subscription, you’ll also be able to access 4 other 2020 videos in August: Deathstroke: Knights And Dragons (August 4), The Fight (August 7), The King Of Staten Island (August 11), Irresistible (August 18), and Superman: Man Of Tomorrow (August 23).

When it comes to cataloging videos that are recorded in Amazon Prime as a component of a general subscription in August, there are some solid releases to watch, assuming you haven’t noticed them before. The classic British comedy Four Weddings And A Funeral continues to hold up well, as does Tom Cruise/Dustin Hoffman with Rain Man.

Christopher Nolan enthusiasts can also see Inception on their subscriptions from August 1, while the same date sees the arrival of a more vintage nostalgia of the 80s in the form of Top Gun and (if you’re more capable of Julia Roberts at the beginning of the era bigger than me I am) Metal Magnolias.

Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton generate mature laughs at August 1 Something’s Gotta Give as well, while decent videos are rounded to Spider-Man 3 and 3:10 To Yuma.
