Amazon displays a “confidential” podcast plan in a bulk email; the screens will have to agree not to denigrate Amazon

Amazon Music and the Tech Giant’s Audible subsidiary plan to offer podcasts from third-party content providers to their platforms, particularly by expanding their audio offerings and clashing with Apple, Google, Spotify and other primary podcast distribution platforms.

But first, they have to deal with a public mess.

The company unveiled its plans Monday in a massive email to podcast content producers, adding news and media organizations that control Amazon, saying that data about its podcast plans is “confidential” without following the popular practice of obtaining their consent to treat the confidential message.

Amazon has already presented podcasts on its Echo speakers through the TuneIn music service. The diversity of Alexa-enabled devices and the Amazon Music service can be a wonderful charm to many podcasters. The message indicates that the screens would be held through services, adding Amazon Music’s loose offering, achieving more than 55 million customers.

Audible, known for its audiobooks, has grown in recent years with a variety of episodic systems and other types of audio content.
