AI SoC Chats: Primitive Mathematical IP for AI

SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT (JULY 21, 2020) – OnLogic (www.onlogic.com), a global manufacturer of commercial PC and IoT hardware, today announced that its Helix series of commercial PCs is available to complex computing, commercial IoT and smart city users, smart plants, artificial intelligence programs, and automation.Developed through the newest tenth generation Intel processors, the Helix series includes a small factor fanless formula (HX500), as well as an exclusive “fanless hybrid” (HX600) that can be configured with discrete GPUs, plus garage and I/O or extension cards. The helix series combination of small size, connectivity, fanless cooling, and processing force is designed to help solution providers and device brands solve their maximum complexity IT Challenges.

“Edge computing has the ideal balance between the strength of the cloud and the power and accessibility of on-site knowledge collection and processing,” says JP Ishaq, OnLogic’s director of product management. “The Helix Series combines our team’s years of delight in the commercial computing box with Intel’s latest CPU technology, to create a pair of systems that have the strength, connectivity, and configuration capability for our customers’ latest ‘one-for-all platform’ at the factory, products, or projects.”

Unlike maximum fanless formulas, Helix is not limited to a low-power central cellular processing unit (CPU), thanks to its unique passive cooling chassis design that allows you to configure the formula with an Intel Core i9 processor. The Helix series also includes extended operating temperature ranges, for 3 independent displays, Intel vPro with AMT, Intel virtualization generation for Led I/O (Intel VT-d) and Intel Fast Storage Technology (Intel RST), to activate raid and shield opposed to loss of consciousness.

The Helix 500 and 600 can also be configured with a variety of Windows or Ubuntu Linux operating systems, and OnLogic plans to load image features for many of its software partners in the future, adding Ignition through Inductive Automation, ThinManager, EdgeIQ, and AWS Greengrass. .

Helix 500: Compact Performance

With less than two inches in height and the length of a laptop, the Helix 500 offers the functionality and connectivity of today’s most complex PC programs in a compact formula. The formula includes an optional programmable DIO for customizable and a 12-24 V wide input power source with voltage protection. With its small length, superior functionality, and flexible connectivity, the formula is ideal for commercial programs, production automation, or any complex computing task that requires reliable functionality in harsh or narrow area environments.

Helix 600: Expanded capabilities

An additional cooling surface allows the Helix 600 to integrate all the features of the Helix 500 and load expansion capabilities, adding a variety of I/O configurations, increased garage capacity and compromised graphics cards. The Helix 600’s extensive feature set makes it ideal for business vision, artificial intelligence, commercial or complex production control, and any complex PC application that requires specialized connectivity, symbol processing, or video. OnLogic plans to soon upload more expansion kits to the Helix 600, adding more hot-replaceable GPUs and garage bays, to create formula flexibility and enable greater graphics processing and long knowledge control capabilities.

Live launch event

Starting with an integrated FPGA-based vision mission can be tricky. Finding all the parts you need, making them communicate with others and simply making their formula the video equivalent of “Hello World” is a pretty daunting task. In this episode of Chalk Talk, Amelia Dalton chats with Avery Williams of Microchip Technology about the Hello FPGA kit, a low-cost, low-contact integrated vision kit for novice FPGA engineers.
