After OLED TVs, smartphones, and Nintendo Switch, are the next OLED laptops?

OLED presentations will remain a high-end option according to a leading market research company that predicts oled laptops will exceed 10% of the market by 2027.

Omdia believes (via OLED-Info) that OLED presentations are now in a position to bring IT globally through the typhoon after an impressive increase in 2021.

Last year, OLED TVs were expected to reach 10% of the market share of global TV sales; we had to wait a little longer for the official effects to be calculated, and OLED presentations have become increasingly popular features for smartphone screens and even for gaming. Consoles.

The Samsung Galaxy S21, the iPhone thirteen and even the cheaper Google Pixel 6 are just a few of the phones that integrate OLED this year. Nintendo also introduced and introduced Nintendo Switch OLED as an extension of its hugely popular handheld console.

As far as OLED laptops are concerned, 2021 has also been an exceptional year in this department; an estimated 5. 58 million people bought one, up 389% from 2020 sales figures.

If you’re not a Samsung, LG, or OLED panel manufacturer, you might find it hard to worry about market percentage figures : what can consumers gain if companies sell more than one screen than 1?

What those numbers mean to us is that OLED presentations have gone from being the preferred, niche option that only early adopters enjoy to a more non-unusual selection for a wider audience.

A year ago, we would have been surprised to see the launch of an OLED TV for less than $1000/$1000/AU$1400, but in 2022 we expect several features to be released with an initial value that will be comfortably worth under this brand.

An example would be the 42-inch LG C2 announced at CES 2022, which could cost around $999/$999 at launch. -Inch TV: for LG B2 or LG A2 lower models.

As far as computing is concerned, we’ll most likely see similar value drops in the coming years for OLED monitors and laptops, as well as improved functionality that can make those presentations more popular with PC gamers.

Samsung Display has now started mass producing 90Hz OLED computer panels, and while they’re a far cry from the 300Hz that some monitors can reach, gamers will enjoy other benefits like brighter colors and higher contrast in dark scenes than on a typical LCD screen.
