Women accountants in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), under the auspices of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Abuja Chapter, have called on accounting professionals to use synthetic intelligence (AI) to remain relevant, as Nigeria is. . rapid development.
SWAN President, Abuja Chapter Monica Nosike FCA made her presentation in Abuja at the annual Swan Practitioner Seminar on the theme: Staying Relevant in the Digital World: Opportunities for Finance Professionals.
Nosike explained that the seminar aimed to harness synthetic intelligence for the accounting profession; Diversification methods for entrepreneurship in a virtual economy; and demanding situations similar to work-life balance and societal expectations.
“We looked at the synthetic intelligence landscape. How accountants will maximize the benefits of synthetic intelligence in their day-to-day operations. Before long, it’s accountants, but not the profession, who risk disappearing if they don’t. be updated on time.
“We go beyond accounting, we turn to IT. We take a look at how to act financially on a large scale and get a clearer view of how to do things smartly.
“You know, we’re dealing with finances, publishing, and audience finances, so we have to be very careful, if we don’t have the technological supply, a lot of us possibly won’t be applicable in the near future. That’s why we said this topic was about the relevance of the career and the accountant, in the way they go about their day-to-day life,” he said.
The President is under pressure that despite the use of synthetic intelligence (AI), accountants will remain applicable as long as they become applicable, and that through upgrading their skills, their facilities will be needed.
“The synthetic intelligence factor has gone through this. AI only helps you do your homework better, it’s not that it physically updates you, you’ll still be relevant, but you want constant updating.
“We have a lot of reforms in the public sector, which aim to generate more cash for the government and the sector and block leakage,” he said.
Nosike congratulated the current head general of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, who, according to her, had been very successful in bringing in professional accountants to achieve his goals for Nigerians, saying it is a reform that would replace the fortunes of Nigeria’s economy.
