Conman creates fake police profile, seeks cash from those who accept friend requests

Chandigarh, September 6

A scammer created a fake Facebook profile from a UT DSP and demanded cash from others as monetary aid.

The scammer created a fake DSP (East) Dilsher Singh Chandel profile and sent conciliation requests to other people who were already friends with the police officer on the social media site.

The fraudster even commented that he would return the cash the next day.Similar messages were won through all those who accepted requests from friends.

After receiving these messages, the Americans informed the DSP of their friends’ applications that were won through them, followed by cash aid messages. The DSP then posted a message on his Facebook profile to alert everyone about the fake email id listed in his name. act or fall prey to the thief.

Many other people commented on the DSP message about receiving such messages and shared screenshots of the messages won from the scammer. The DSP filed a complaint with the RAP police on Saturday night. The sources said the complaint would be reviewed through the Cybercrime Investigation Unit.
