On its official website, BioWare sells a lithographic edition of the teaser art it revealed last year on N7 Day, which shows an organization of explorers venturing into the caldera of a volcano. The scene is depicted in a straight line, so it’s to say who the characters are.
However, a YouTuber named MrHulthen spotted an attractive detail in the product description on BioWare’s store page. Originally, the text included a passage that read: “Shepard’s last quest would possibly have ended the risk of the Reapers, but at a wonderful cost, adding the Earth itself. While Shepard and the survivors have to find the tracks, the enthusiasts they wonder what the next step is.
Here’s the video:
In itself, it is cryptic enough to be interesting, without necessarily revealing anything. You can read the sentence as if it were referring to Shepard and the other survivors of the crisis at the end of Mass Effect 3 in general, who may or may not have anything to do with the new game, or it could refer to Shepard and an express organization of survivors who may also be his partners in the events of the new Mass Effect story, which I would strongly recommend that Shepard is at least directly involved in the occasions of the new Mass Effect game.
Mass Effect’s director of assignments, Michael Gamble, took to Twitter to explain things. It turns out that the original copy was written through other people who run BioWare’s online store and are familiar with Mass Effect, he explained, dismissing, for now, any rumors about a return from Commander Shepard.
Hopefully, we’ll know more about the upcoming Mass Effect game in the near future. The release date has not yet been announced.
