The six Star Trek videos featuring the original TV screen are a genuine mix, with the fifth installment at the bottom.
The Final Frontier is directed by William Shatner (who actually doesn’t do it just because Leonard Nimoy had to direct 3 and 4) and sees the Enterprise team face off against a renegade Vulcan whose search for God threatens the entire universe.
Most commonly, it’s garbage. The comedy is mediocre, the action sequences lack inspiration, and Shatner is temporarily shown to be a guy incapable of directing. Fans and non-fans alike were disappointed, although one scene in particular was quite pleasing to the most hardcore.
By the end of the film, Kirk seems absolutely at the mercy of a god-like entity, only for a Klingon Bird of Prey spaceship to come and save him. It is revealed that Spock is the wheel and that he has committed one last damage. Play to save your captain.
The film ends with Kirk, Spock and Bones and the sound on Earth – a great picture for fans of the original series.
